X-Factor put together a pretty good opening show. They closed with an emotional segment featuring a 19-year-old girl named Jillian who had been bullied in junior high and high school. She predictably wowed everyone. A girl named Janelle went just before her and also drew comparisons to Haley.

I think Jillian's speaking voice sounds a bit like Haley. I don't think her singing voice comes close.

Below, Jannel Garcia. She's cute and likes classic rock but I don't think she sounds like Haley. In this performance, Jannel incorporates sexy mannerisms (playing with her hair, etc) but the attempt at sensuality seems forced.

No one sounds like Haley (and Haley doesn't sound exactly like anyone but herself)

The girl wasn't half bad at all though. She had a little yodel here and there and I can see some of her attitude being simlar to Haley's. She got all the way into the song and connect to lines in positive , not angry ways... ..
... she's also petite and has nice thighs she's willing to use to flirt with !

not a night and day comparison by any means

Some 13-yr-old girl just performed and received a standing ovation from the judges. She seemed to do a good job. But honestly, once she began, the sound of her voice was overwhelmed by the piano and then by the crowd on my television. I often think they mix the sound on tv these days with the assumption everyone has a home theater system.

^^Miguel, you could be correct (in regards to the assumption that everyone has a home theater system, when in reality, there are people who don't have televisions (and have chosen that path).

I have long been offended (yes, offended!) by this stupid idea that drowning out a performer while said performer performs is a "compliment." How can one appreciate, applaud, cheer that which one hasn't actually heard? That's absolutely idiotic and absurd!

But, I'm "old fashioned," I guess.

I thought it seemed like the young girl's singing was fake, like she was lip-singing to the song. Did anyone else see/hear that? It just didnt seem to match up that a big voice could come out of her small, young body.

If it really was her though, she's really good!!
