She needs to take time to relax. Too much work and stress will make her (and all of us) feel worse

Do they sometimes just record("produce?") songs with artists they think can make a good product and go out and sell pitch the completed songs? I know it is a feast or famine business and if you aren't getting paid and have an empty studio and free days, I can see that kind of guy putting his effort to good use and trying to sell it later?

I went out tonight and had a fun time seeing Harry and Peter project with Harry Reinhart. People were dancing and singing along to the songs even though it's in a restaurant.

I got a chance to talk with Harry a little about Haley recording new songs. Now i know nothing about the music business, but Tom, you were right. I asked him who was paying for recording the songs if Haley isn't signed with a label. Harry said the writers and producers will do it for free hoping that their song will get used on an album and played on the radio etc. That they would get their money back down the road if their song is successful. He said Haley "just needs one song" to break through!!

Harry also talked about how Haley is making some money from "residuals". I wasnt sure if this was from TV stuff or her songs playing in stores....

He said he has never heard his daughter's music played in stores. We were talking about how its playing over seas, in Europe, Korea etc.

He also asked if we saw the AI episode last night with the contestant mentioning Haley's name and thought that was very cool!! What a proud pappa!

Hey Babbs, thanks for the info! Thats cool that the writers and producers do that for no initial fees, plus glad to hear Haley has some residual money coming her way. How was the band tonight?

It was Harry and Peter Project- a twosome with harmonica and guitar. They sounded great. Ive heard them several times now. They play Neil Young, Simon and Garfunkel, The Cunninghams, Steve Winwood, Johnny Cash etc
They play in a restaurant, so its starts out with everyone eating, but pretty much the whole restaurant stayed to hear them play till 9:30 when they stop.

That sounds like it must have been a good show, Harry and Peter project does covers of some great artists! Guitar and harmonica, sounds interesting. I can see them doing some Neil Young songs.

Ya, that was a nice mention. I saw it when I got home. Patti DVR'd it. It was good to see a girl truly influenced by Haley's singing. That's a big part of what it's all about, not just record sales and recognition.
I had the nice opportunity to go down to the Cell in the Stadium Club for the Sox pre-fest VIP party. Met a lot of players along with Steve Stone and Bill Melton, and had a great dinner. Wish Kittle was there. I love that guy. Have a good time at the fest.
