RE: "Oh My!" used in DHD Valentine's Commerical
Yesterday, when this began racking up the views, I began thinking how great it would be for Haley if it could air during the Super Bowl. I subsequently dismissed the thought because no one is going to buy a minute-long spot on the Super Bowl. That would cost upwards of $8 million.
Turns out, Hyundai is running a 60-second spot.
Featuring The Flaming Lips.
This is the only SB ad I've previewed and I think it sells the band more than the car. In fact, until I just looked it up again, I thought the spot was for Chevrolet.
You can see it here:
http://www.rollingstone.com/music/videos...d-20130129
The article mentions "Todd Porter, music supervisor at Goodby Silverstein, which worked on fun.'s Chevy spot last year." (<-- That's why I thought Chevy). That spot helped put "fun" on the charts.
I tweeted him yesterday, and today, suggesting he check out Haley.
It will be interesting to see how this minute-long exposure during the Super Bowl boosts The Flaming Lips sales and recognition.

Wow! When I posted the link earlier today it was only 600-something. YouTube sometimes lags behind but that's a big difference. That's also a big number for a commercial that isn't viral in nature. I would guess the views are coming mostly from people who are fans of the actors. Great exposure for Haley!

People are already asking who's voice that is. Is this airing only on youtube, or is this on TV, any idea? She drags out the sultry little rasp nicely.
Wow, when I visited the video a couple hours ago it had twenty something thousand views and I almost commented on that here. Not a lot of comments or thumbs ups, though.
The video gives excellent associations to the song and everything moves along quickly. I wonder if this recording is from the studio session with Rob Klein that was mentioned. Wasn't that about a new song colab, or maybe I assumed that it was? Haley said she did most of the back up vocals on LU, I wonder if this is just one of a bunch of extra tracks of her singing lyrics for the studio version.
Notice the B.o.B bridge is but a distant memory now and they focus it all on the clarity and depth of her vocals...
If it's a new recorded track, would be nice if it was in some way for issuing OM with the new bridge as a single ?

Didn´t She do a remix of one of her songs in Vegas after Lolla? I remember reading something about it, not quite sure if it was on Twitter though
