Kind of like White chocolate isn't nearly as good as real honest for goodness dark chocolate but everyonce in a while, in small amounts it can be really kind of tasty (but you quickly get too much of it).
I like to hear different people cover songs as long as they bring their own style and point of view to them. This was just different enough to qualify in some ways (it sounded like a different "character" singing it.. a different type of girl) but not different enough to be a "whole different vibe" musically.
I had a 5 hour tape of 100s of different bands covering "louie louie" . I could listen to it for hours getting in and out of the car or on a run etc. Punk, new age, New wave, country, soul, ska, frank sinatra(or was it bobby darin or dean martin) , Jimmy Buffett .. I can't name them all of course...every band alive probably covered it at some party or another and if it got recorded or not was the real thing.
