Good interview. I like that the interviewer said "She won in our book." Some of my takeaways:

What will this new album sound like? I hope that it has a lot of different sounds and genres incorporated...A lot of it is new wave Motown or new wave R&B soul kind of thing. I hope that I incorporate some of the jazzier styles,...stylistically...jazz...some rock...yeah.

Who's the last AI contestant that you texted? Casey Abrams. Trying to get another "callab" going...possibly on his album....

What did you learn from JLo? ...JLo was encouraging especially in the beginning....[more than she thought]

What did you learn from Randy Jackson? I learned to be a tough cookie, that's for sure... I learned to grow a couple thousand layers of skin...to be a lot stronger person.

Album out no later than May. Hoping to debut the single on Idol but you never know.

Haley always strikes me as sincere. But she is good at being honest without being brutal. For example, you can tell she liked Randy the least of the judges but she credits him with making her "a lot stronger of a person."

Immediately after that she said that watching the season back recently, she could feel the emotions in-depth for the first time. We know from H2's report that she was moved to tears. Tying the two together, I think it was the interaction with Randy that made her cry. To feel something that strongly and not lash out after the fact is a testament to her maturity.

On the other hand, like many of us, she appears to have revised her view of J-Lo somewhat after watching HHG26's videos and noticing how complimentary J-Lo was early on.

Ever notice how Haley always acknowledges a compliment about her singing? The hostess plays a bit of Rhiannon then says they like the character of Haley's voice before segueing into a question about the album. Haley makes it a point to say "thank you" before answering the question.

Loved the interview...she's sounding pretty froggie. Maybe the voice is worn out a little after recording 30 songs...if we can trust the Reinhart family math?

Taking her time to answer the questions, trying to work on less "ums" maybe. She is a learner, and as part of being an inspiration to others, she wants to be more polished/professional. This whole first year was a process of polishing this incredible gem.

All of our concern for her debut album, the timing, last one of the Top 4 to have something out there...it still comes down to that magnificent voice! She has it...it's not going away.
