When you combine a Marshall stack amplifier and a Les Paul standard guitar the results are pure rock 'n roll. Not even close to a Fender Stratocaster, it seems only logical that Harry will be playing on her new album along with some smooth and and sultry backgrounds from her mother. (It's a family affair)

Perhaps Haley will ultimately have more than the four writing credits we know about.

It's one thing for a recording artist to have a hit single that is the objective. Reaching for the ultimate prize and the Grammy this to be able to sing a number one hit song and to have the writing credits for. Hoping that Haley reached this status either now or sometime in the future. She has a long career ahead of her.

What I most want from Haley is music that doesn't sound like the music from the current pop princesses -- something that puts her true voice out there without any electronic alterations. If her father did record a track, I think the chances of that happening just went up.

I think it is very important for her to stay away from the electronic distortion of her voice and avoid much of the whole electronification of her music. I worry about some of the urban music stuff some of the producers are into, but I also have a lot of confidence in Haley's musical instincts and willingness to assert herself. The jazz, blues, and old school rock and R&B influences that run deep in Haley also run counter to having any synthetic sound to her music. I am always glad when her Chicago roots have a chance to exert their influence, especially in the form of her parents.

Haley has used the word "organic" in characterizing the music she wants to make. I recently read a quote by Adele, which might reflect Haley's thinking as well: "I want to make organic music, just me and my band in a room, sticking to my roots." (Here)

Per his post on IF, at the end of November Figure8 pegged this title as a possible song for Haley because Rob Kleiner and Mozella shared writing credits on it. Now Haley has a credit. So they apparently tweaked it with her input.

If this is tune has a catchy line using "OH my" it could be big. I just checked and about 20 tweets using "Oh my" are made every 45 seconds (tweets unrelated to this song).

I wonder if Haley's father played guitar on "Oh My." And whether OM or another song, I wonder if Haley gave her dad a copy of the tune without the guitar track and let him play with it for a while to come up with the guitar part. If so, I'd bet it will be tasty.

I had similar questions when I first learned of her father's involvement.

Was it a cover song he already knew? Something Haley or someone in her family had written and they had played before? Did they bump a session guitarist off a new track to make room for him? Did they know all along he would be recording the track?
