My take on hearing it was that it was a sample sound for a movie or something . I keep harping on the movie/tv angle(since a few weeks after release of LU over a year ago) but I think but that's where the first albums type songs strengths lie. (I'll come back to the rock thing in another post).

The scratchy record sound seems to overtly emphasize "time and place" . I'm thinking a prohibition era movie etc (there have been plenty already) ... I'm not a more than a hobbyist on these things but the sound is more 1930's than 1920's . More of a Great Depression Era film ? Amelia Earhart biography etc?

The 60 seconds is too short for a release song but too long as a sort of introduction to another song . Still, it could be that sort of thing.... with a "hit it" more modern upbeat-wall-of-sound song following it.
