So it's been confirmed that Christina will be competing on the upcoming season of The Voice. (she was apparently an indie artist..)

This could be very good for Haley, for two reasons.

The first is, there is a tendency of Voice fans to look for old music of their voice fave's while the show is competing. I believe Haley's song is one of Christina's most popular, so Haley's likely to get some money from this.

Second, if Christina makes it very far, she clearly likes Haley's music. It's more likely than ever that we get a Haley song on The Voice.

Interesting. Adam Levine offered her a record deal, but she signed elsewhere. (Good move, probably.)

During the show, her EP with Haley's song on it charted decently high on the pop charts. Good to see Haley getting a little money off of it. Although I was really hoping Christina would have sung a Haley song. Given her head voice, I think she would have done "Free" really well.

I think it would depend on whether Island takes songs from Ole. Christina did seem to like Haley's style a lot, and if a few Haley songs were available for her, it wouldn't surprise me if she'd choose one. But it probably depended on Christina's choices.

I think she would be treading on thin ice if she sang Free. I'm not sure how much of a 'singer's song' it is for these types of competitions, would Christina 'iron out' the song, try not to sing it like Haley? It's what Haley's voice does within the song that makes it.

Another of Haley's unreleased songs would be ideal simply because it wouldn't have as strong an attachment to Haley as Free or Undone. Besides they already have a working relationship with GYT


BTW, did I miss that Haley has a company called "Peachy Keen"(sp)?
Maybe I heard it wrong, but it came up in conversation about "The Company She Keeps" as a company owned(?) by Haley and for some reason, I don't remember ever knowing if that was true or ever discussed?

The funny thing about Christina, is that she really does not have a typical voice for singing competitions. And I feel for her, because I know..more than anything..she wants a voice like Christina Aguilera and Haley. A voice that is thick and full of blues and soul. She doesn't have that. Her voice is thin and screechy and I can't listen to her belt.

What she does have is this beautiful delicate head voice. And I really think she is second to no one in respect to that talent. I was always "meh" on her, but when she sings accompaniment, or simply sings a more subtle song where she can flourish with her head voice, she's exceptional.

There, of course, have been better singers that could have sung one of Haley's songs. (Jessica Sanchez, Jena, Jacquie Lee, or Tessanne Chin for starters..) but given that Christina is a fan and is familiar with Haley's work, I was hoping we'd get a Haley song. And "Free" if she had done it acoustically, would have been the best song of Haley's for her, IMO. She wouldn't have needed to belt and she would have been forced into her head voice.
