I was also expecting to be able to use my Paypal account rather than charge card but I don't think it's something Haley can initiate. Indiegogo would probably need to have that as available.

I just checked and it is Haley that would make Paypal an available option and it's interesting to note that the funds would go directly to her personal Paypal account (but Paypal will take 3% & Indiegogo will take 9% but reimburse 5% if she reaches her goal):

With Credit Card the same fees apply but she has to wait until the campaign period is over to get the funds where with Paypal it's instant.

I'm sure hoping some of Haley's "privileged $$" (I couldn't think of another word) supporters out there come through and help by donating to her video. I've been watching this fund slowwwly increase. I know it's only been a few days, (I guess i'm acting a little impatient ) but was secretly hoping more fans would jump on the bandwagon for her. And I realize people have bills, some fans are young etc, and aren't able to donate.
I hope she is able to add Paypal too!

And, NUG, I'm jealous of you almost paying off your mortgage. Wow! That is fantastic.

Everybody contributes what they can how they can if they can....

We've been only, what? 3 days into this? and have reached 1/6 of the goal. I think the key here isn't that the goal is reached, since they have stated,

If they fall short of their target, then will learn a lesson in economy, how to do with what they have and still make something to be proud of. A lesson in managing budget etc. Valuable experience that will pay off later

That is not to say, that we shouldn't stop trying to promote it, or donate more, I just think that there is implication that someone isn't helping when we ask, where are they? It's sort of like, you provide your kid a roof, food an education, and when you say they can't get money to go on a ski outing, they say, "You never do anything for me!!"

I think this is also about getting her fans to feel they get to help, have a stake in the video. A building of community. Whether they are donating a little or alot, tweeting or spreading it on facebook, it's a unified effort.

I understand what you're trying to say, but some of these "priviliged' have donated in ways that we may be unaware of. To help and then be asked how come you haven't given, just because we are unaware, I don't know, I just think this should be about community support and not obligation.... They are similar motivations, but ultimately very different....

I think there is value in the 'common' fan seeing what they can do as a community to uplift something they believe in. Remember, an integral part of what they are counting on to make the video, is donated time from some of the participants, again, community effort, even behind the scenes

We really need a big pocketed supporter to buy a home concert ASAP!!!

I can't wait to get that mortgage paid off Babbs - once that's done, I intend to get a job I LOVE (and maybe less $$) instead of one that just pays the bills

Don't worry, I know your heart is in the right place.

It's just complicated.... I just don't want it to be implied that just because someone is 'priviliged $$' means they are required to contribute 'more' .

Also, 'privileged' implies that they didn't earn what they have

I just posted on facebook about Haley's fundraiser with a link to the page. Hopefully my friends will help her out.

See? That's one of the cool things about this project. It is crafted guilt or obligation free. She states outright, how you can help even if you can't afford to give more$$, like Lisa did
