Behind the pianist Scott Bradlee , drummer Chip Thomas , bassist Adam Kubota , saxophonist Ben Golder - Novick and James Hall trombone player stand exactly where it is needed : a flawless canvas that follows the waves of intensity their singer , subtly , never did steal the show . (never overshadows the singer?)
Just , wow . [/quote]
Totally agree with this. They did a perfect job.
On AI the temptation to overdo it would not have achieved the same result. EHFAR

My guess is she did have a lot of offers, I get the feeling she also turned down a lot of offers.... They just weren't the right fit at the time. I'm guessing that after the Interscope fiasco, Haley knew she needed to educate herself more about the industry she's entering, take things more into her hands, come at it with more knowledge so she knows what decisions she's agreeing with.
In baseball terms, It's like when you have a young phenomenal high school pitcher, incredible fast ball. But once you draft him, you don't put him immediately into the Majors. You teach him a couple new pitches, a changeup to make his fast ball look faster, a slider to keep the batters guessing... to learn to study opponent's holes in their swing, to learn pitcher strategy.
Once armed with the knowledge and experience THEN you bring him up to the majors to best take advantage of the time he has in THE SHOW
I think Haley, or maybe after consulting with her parents, knew that the next time she'd be given the opportunity, she had to prepare.... that's what she's been doing during the 'down time' as evidenced by these doors opening doors opening other doors etc
She's now ready for "The Majors"....on her terms

While we believe she has a beautiful soul, I think the message combined with the art reflects how a person who is constantly praised as beautiful and talented feels if they have a strong desire to stay grounded.
There is something about that piece that I also really like. Funny how some things in their simplicity just, click with you.
On another note, I saw that open offer from the Harlem based jazz label. It made me wonder whether Scott/PMJ have a record deal? Anyone know?

I've had my CreepO2 compared to this performance from American Idol, a 'post Idol' House of the Rising Sun type performance, when she stamped a permanent mark on her Season. Breathing her essence into an old song, Haley finally stepping out from behind the curtain and on full display in all her vocal glory
It was when alot of people took notice of Haley, she was no longer an afterthought
And the first youtube that went up reached a huge number (1M?) overnight then disapeared the next day. So yes, a lot of people! Really? Just goes to show they REALLY didn't want her to win--the producers.

but now I bet even King Felix, Robinson Cano & Nelson Cruz will give H.E.R. a good Listen and let her play (some chin music) along side them.

My feeling has always been that Harry is her advisor - but I don't know anything - just my gut. What I do know is Haley clicked with PMJ and vise versa - good for all for all involved. Scott is savy but so is our girl . IMHO this is just what she needed on a shoe string budget.
