I've been following her since around Top 10 Idol days.But there's been times when I've sloughed off when not much was happening.I've probably tended to think too often in terms of like-between what she did on Idol and then her album-that after that anyone can see the gifts that she has and like-isn't anyone out there listening-like some big record producer should take her under their wings or something-but that's probably pretty naïve of me.

But,in effect that's kind of what Scott Bradlee has done and in the process not only has he given her wider exposure and a chance to perform with proper backup -something she hardly had much of when she was trying to promote her album-but now with this recording she's been able to take things to another level.And after a lot of the down times its so cool to see the response to this recording.

My guess is she did have a lot of offers, I get the feeling she also turned down a lot of offers.... They just weren't the right fit at the time. I'm guessing that after the Interscope fiasco, Haley knew she needed to educate herself more about the industry she's entering, take things more into her hands, come at it with more knowledge so she knows what decisions she's agreeing with.

In baseball terms, It's like when you have a young phenomenal high school pitcher, incredible fast ball. But once you draft him, you don't put him immediately into the Majors. You teach him a couple new pitches, a changeup to make his fast ball look faster, a slider to keep the batters guessing... to learn to study opponent's holes in their swing, to learn pitcher strategy.

Once armed with the knowledge and experience THEN you bring him up to the majors to best take advantage of the time he has in THE SHOW

I think Haley, or maybe after consulting with her parents, knew that the next time she'd be given the opportunity, she had to prepare.... that's what she's been doing during the 'down time' as evidenced by these doors opening doors opening other doors etc

She's now ready for "The Majors"....on her terms

I like that fan art. It answers the criticism that Haley's too beautiful to be a creep. While we believe she has a beautiful soul, I think the message combined with the art reflects how a person who is constantly praised as beautiful and talented feels if they have a strong desire to stay grounded.

There is something about that piece that I also really like. Funny how some things in their simplicity just, click with you.

On another note, I saw that open offer from the Harlem based jazz label. It made me wonder whether Scott/PMJ have a record deal? Anyone know?

I'm here at 35,000 feet rockin' in the free world with Haley's Creep. Keeping me grounded as I join the HF mile high club. Some of the tones that appear in her voice are just unreal.

The offers she had were not fair and if accepted would put her right into the same Interscope wallowing around unrespected trap.

It is a tough business and I bet Haley listens to her parents who are "seasoned" but she is in LA and has a lot of other influences too. My feeling has always been that Harry is her advisor - but I don't know anything - just my gut. What I do know is Haley clicked with PMJ and vise versa - good for all for all involved. Scott is savy but so is our girl . IMHO this is just what she needed on a shoe string budget.
