Of course I'm biased but I'm struck at the silence from the crowd listening to it, enraptured, especially when she sings the lyric "Fncdking special", it's absolutely silent. In the videos of performances since the PMJ release of "Creep" the crowd often loudly acknowledges her singing the 'proper' lyrics with cheers. That doesn't happen in the O2 video

I've noticed that too Tusk- but she sings it differently now too - she was more out about it in Europe, I think. Playing to the culture of where she's performing.

It was the opposite reaction from in the crowd in the UK, several people gasped when she sang that lyric. The audience was so silent, you could hear a drawing of breath. I don't think it was a gasp of 'shock'. I think many in the crowd are familiar with the original song, IMO the 'community gasp' was more from anticipation of ...."will she sing it? (the lyric)" the gasp came when, yes, she did sing it

I think maybe part of the difference we hear in performance from then til now, is that it was still a 'fresh' performance, she was still finding her way with the song, how she wants to present it. We know that one of Haley's amazing strengths is when she's asked to be 'in the moment'... she doesn't hit it every time, though she does alot, but when she does hit it? It's usually spectacular

I still go back to her first performance of "Creep" in Lyon, France as a favorite, simply because you can see her pouring herself into the song.... I do love watching the O2 performance a lot, but I will also, now and again, come back to her Lyon performance because it illustrates what I said above, when she is 'in the moment' and hits it, it's usually spectacular....

Yes, sometimes I still tear up near the end and I love the crowd reaction, first time she sang the song, they never saw it coming (lucky audience )

I've observed that too. In Europe, they have a more relaxed view on the meaning and impact of certain words that are wildly taboo and given too much significance in the States. She does that shrug or a cutesy gesture of faux innocence when she sings it in the States, as if to empahsise/demphasise the word's more explicit meaning/use

I view to the Lyon video periodically too. She does totally put herself into it and I love the audience reaction (especially the blond in the front row). I find myself wondering what was running through Scott's head when she sang the song; it was so powerful. I also react to Haley at the end. It's almost like she was embarassed by the audience reaction and scooted of the stage pretty quick.

^^I heard that there has been an epidemic of ASMR since the Creep performances came out. There was also a major spike during S10 and thereafter. I suffer from that myself whenever I hear Haley sing. Buzz, I may need to check in to that Halien therapy course you sponser.

Yanni...you've gone through the treatment program 3 times already at Haley House!

Since ASMR is not scientifically verifiable, we have come up with our own verifiable syndrome with the acronym WOWWTF...this is the program you have been through 3 times...remember?

Most repetitive patients continue to have relapses...and seem quite content about it.
