I agree with your opinion. Haley must REALLY love Better to make it the lead. I wish we could each pick our favorite Haley songs for the new EP!!

Maybe Ole and Haley are remixing based on her charting with PMJ - who knows but she needs to sell music and that is the end game. I have always loved jazz Haley but those sales figures are so low with jazz I am not sure that is what she needs right now. We will find out "soon" I am sure ...

She already said its going to be funky, sultry with some rock in there so I don't think so. The sound of the EP is probably set in stone at this point and I don't see jazz being included in that mix.

I was one of many who at one time wondered how Better could possibly be used for advertising, films, TV shows, etc. Then not too long ago my wife and I watched Grace and Frankie on Netflix. It's a series about 2 long time married couples where the husbands, who are business partners, become lovers and leave their wives. The 2 wives, who are polar opposites, end up sharing a beach property which was owned by both couples. In one of the early episodes, if I remember correctly, one of them says something like "I'm tempted to throw my ring into the ocean!" At this point I thought - perfect! Better is a natural for the closing credits of this episode. Of course some other music was played. A golden opportunity was lost. Of course this was only season 1 of a series which has been renewed, but the story line has progressed and I'm not sure if the song would be as appropriate for the series now.

Well, maybe Good or Bad or one of her other songs will connect with a movie and Haley will end up getting an Oscar for best original song. One can hope, can't one?

Regarding “Better”, I posted this a while back about what I hoped would be on the EP:

• Better
• Good Or Bad
• Lover Girl
• My Cake
• ROCKER/COVER TBD
• Love Is Worth Fighting For

Regarding “Better”, I too am of the opinion that it is not the greatest song to release as a single, but it is still a fun empowering song that should be on the EP. And, I think the name is great for the EP.

My single choice would be “My Cake” simply because it is a fun, catchy song with a great hook and fun lyrics.

The idea of a “single” these days is pretty much out the window unless you are a superstar anyway. A single is typically released before the full length CD or LP to start radio airplay etc, but today, I would say Haley will probably release the EP in full, and call “Better” the single.

If Haley could somehow put together a band for the “Better” Tour and play 12-15 cities by the end of the year, that would be terrific. She could sing her new songs, PMJ songs, Listen Up tunes and Idol classics—what a show it could be.

It seems the "single" is a song that the label pitches for radio play, which is still an important outlet. I don't see any obvious big singles in the list above, including Better, bit I think a lot will hinge on the arrangement and the work of the musicians accompanying Haley.

I'm more than willing to wait longer if that means we're getting a full length LP. But, why wouldn't they tells us that if that's the case?

UNLESS, what Haley meant was the single and EP are coming out (soon), and then while the EP is out, Haley will continue recording more songs that'll eventually be combined with the EP to make a full length album. But then again if that were the case why even bother with the EP?? I don't know

Most likely, Lyca meant the EP when she said "the album."
