RE: Haley Reinhart for Extra Gum: "Can't Help Falling in Love"

The reason I brought up Energy BDDO's losing the BudLight account was to note that Haley's commercial has been a huge win in a year that has been kind of a downer for the ad agency. In addition to losing BudLight, Energy BBDO lost the Lays account and their Chief Creative Director resigned in July, and at about the time "The Story of Sarah & Juan" came out, the came out 2nd in their campaign to win the American Airlines account. The "gum commercial" is so good that it turned a bad year into a good year. I think it likely that the agency and Haley will be reaping rewards for awhile as a result.....perhaps a Clio or two next September.
That's pretty special for a life-long White Sox fan to knock it out of the park for the Wrigley's!
[For the non-baseball fans Wrigley Field is the storied home of the Chicago Cubs.]

InIt - maybe I did not use the right words and it came off wrong - I was so excited and no one dampened my happy little world. You all find so many cool interesting things to share that I really appreciate. I am just so excited recently I can't contain myself .
BH - As for the Sox fans comment I totally agree. I am a north sider but that doesn't matter, heck I went to "The Cell" to catch Haley sing the Anthem. Now she returned the favor.
Wrigley is a Chicago institution from Wrigley Field to the Wrigley building on the magnificent mile and it would be so cool for her to be part of a major campaign (if it happens) hometown girl done good - thus my "happy little world comment".

She sang the Anthem beautifully - too bad she was devasted when she slipped up with a very small little glitch in "God Bless America" 7 innings later but recovered nicely.
If she got to sing at Wrigley Field Someday, I would even wear a Cubs hat and jersey and pay for a seat behind the dugout.

So Haley can still root for Her (& my) White Sox without any friction from Wrigley Corporate.
Yeeesss, 'tis all true . . . for both of us. The only thing I would correct in my little two-liner would be that she hit it out of the park for "Wrigley's Extra." (the brand; not the family)
At least the Ricketts had the wisdom to not mess with the name of the park!
Just tell me that Marshall Field's in still intact, and I'm not even going to ask about Santa!

RE: Haley Reinhart for Extra Gum: "Can't Help Falling in Love"
I emailed Harry the link to Ole's newsletter article....
Quote:Wow, hadn't seen that. What a nice article. So glad Ole is behind her in such a way....
Loved the last line, "she knocked it out of the park". Best compliment you can get. Cheers!
I used a bunch of baseball analogies in our earlier discussion about Scott and PMJ and remember my discussion w/ Harry about Baseball at the private party in California...(My offer to take him to Safeco field if he's ever in Seattle is still standing ) so no surprise the "knocked it out of the park" line would catch his eye
Quote: The Wrigley ad came at the right time and of course it's pretty close to home for us, Wrigley being part of our lives since childhood. It's fitting!
