I'm wondering if this could be just one Ad spot, with others to come with more of the song if it's well received? The theme and intent is interesting. Shop at Walmart and save money. Save to be able spend for great moments with your kids'. Save for your kid's future. This spot seems to be aimed at younger parents. Other parts of the song could fit with saving for college, retirement, etc.

This is always aggravating. I wish they'd release these songs at the time of airing. It's literally money they are losing. If they even plan on releasing a full version...I would think Haley would have mentioned it after confirming it so a part of me thinks we aren't getting one.

I doubt there's a full version as the original moves into a dancier beat, and the marketing folks likely didn't go through the trouble of creating a full arrangement. I did a quick review of the covers yesterday and didn't find any that were similar.

In any case, probably a good payday for Haley and nice exposure too. It seems like Walmart has been using original music in the commercials. For example, "Dream On" by Aerosmith.

It's likely Haley doesn't know much more than that she recorded it...maybe didn't even know for whom. The Wrigley's ad was very focused and strategic, they had an effective story that had a beginning, middle and end, that they rolled out in parts. They searched for a voice that enhanced the story, finding that voice in Haley via PMJ and flawlessly executed it.

Walmart's strategy appears to be film a bunch of stuff of people getting together, cooking, activities, then take it into the editing room and find songs that fit the narrative of their 15second/30 second spot.... so more of an overall campaign, rather than one that is specific and focused on telling a story, imparting an emotional impact....

That being said, from the ads that Walmart has rolled out and the music they used...Haley's seems to be the only one that was recorded for this ad specifically (not using 'original' recordings), as opposed to using other songs which already exist like Aerosmith's Dream On, Flo Rida's My House and Montell Jordan's This is How We Do it.

Haley's Walmart ad is also focused and strategic. It expresses a clear message.

True, but the videos, looking at the entirety of their recent campaign, involves family activities, including in the park, in the kitchen, outdoors....the point is, they may have gone out and filmed all of these w/o songs in mind, then determined the song that fit after they edited all their video together to communicate whatever 'feeling' or activity they want to highlight, augmenting it w/ a popular song.

The Wrigley commercial was specific, there was no other 'activity' in that campaign, just the story of two strangers who became friends who became lovers....Walmart's ad campaign is very general, people (of different ages, genders and races) getting together and socializing

The difference being their process of putting the campaigns together, Walmart using a lot of generic shots of people doing people things whereas Wrigley's campaign focused solely on two people
