Just thinking about this tweet from last night:
Quote:JONATHAN SMITH @TheREALjonsmith
Happy Cinco y'all. About to hit a SONY thing for Haley Reinhart record I played on. Enjoy!
Could be Breezy has officially left the band.
I think Jonathan was just filling in. He's more of a session musician than a touring performer.
Hmmmm. Miguel, you're probably correct. I liked Breezy, and, if you're speculation is correct, it's too bad.
However, musicians don't pay bills by sitting around, and Haley's summer tour is not confirmed, so I can understand why this might happen. Actually, Haley probably does as well.

He took the Haley gig to pay the bills, and being seen on television was a treat for his family, but that's not where his heart is at. Last week, he/they tweeted a video from a performance they gave at the House of Blues. In abbreviated form, it showed them getting in the car, arriving backstage, performing before a huge, enthusiastic crowd and being giddy backstage afterwards. It's clear things are looking up for them.

I hope/trust that Haley's life experience with her parents band has conditioned her to this revolving door that "her band" may become.

I dunno, it was always going to be Haley the solo artist, we don't opine about the musicians that originally played on the "Free" track, I'm not sure at this early in the game there is this need, yet, to stick to certain musicians. I mean, Steely Dan is basically two guys and a bunch of session musicians, over their career, right?
Maybe she will find a particular musician she feels most comfortable with in the future and will play with the most. Xtina doesn't have a musician/band members tied to her as far as I know.
If you think about it, her ability to be at ease and put other musicians at ease serves her really well for this. We saw this about her all through Idol. She speaks their language fluently and riffs with them effortlessly.
Haley is well equipped for almost anything that is thrown at her in this profession, that is her best attribute
Edit to my "opine" statement...I admit, a bit, to being disappointed at Neara's leaving because not only was she a well trained musician, I thought it would have been kind of cool for Haley to have some female companionship during her tour. But Haley is a bit of an "Alpha Female", in her own adorkable way, so I don't know.....

Tusk, I spoke from my own experience from being in a band (in Spokane, where you recently visited) and was projecting a bit.
That being said and because of other things we "kind of know" about Haley, I wonder if it "hurts" a bit that those she chose for her band (Breezy Lovejoy) are abandoning her. After Neara was "summarily dissmissed," I can't help but wonder if or what impact this will have for her in the future. (And, yes, I know that Haley is a practical girl. But Haley also has a big heart, so ....)

Well said and well reasoned Tusk. She is just getting started as a solo artist and it was never going to be Haley & The Haliens as a band. Even if she calls, I'm not singing back-up...she's flying solo with a big Interscope backing. She flies really well in the world of music and looks great doing it!
