Keith is a cool dude. We talked about other musical stuff he is doing, and he emailed me a link to his CD on Itunes. I am buying it sight unseen. Saturday night especially, he was really grooving with the tunes, and just looked like he was genuinely having the time of his life. Who wouldn't be? Courtney was really alive Saturday, with some awesome snappy, crisp, baselines. Several times in his solos, at the just right moment, he would ever so brielfly pause for a split second before delivering a power note. Had Swan and myself laughing out loud it was so cool.
Along with meeting and having a drink with the most wonderful singer alive today, I also got to hang out with some of the nicest people I've ever met. In no particular order, Tusk, Swan, and Pat are all amazing Haley fans and individuals. Thanks for welcoming me! I had possibly the best night of my life last night. Can't think of anything better at the moment. Wish every fan on this site could have been there.
Damn, so much to say, but I don't have the gift of speech that so many other Haliens have. Hope to be buying a video camera in the near future, so I can help out as well.
Also, I must mention Tim, the "Cool Nebraka Guy" as he came to be known. He did a really, really cool thing for Haley, but asked to keep it quiet and I respect that. But hats off to you dude!
Thanks for sharing the experiences - it make us all Halien's so happy! Wish I could have been there too!

Yanni there is a place in Pasadena called the Ice House great place for Haley to play Very cool people
The Sky Bar in West LA on Sunset blvd. Another cool place is called Whisky Blue on the sprip

Oh yeah, one other interesting note. I asked Haley if Keith and Courtney would be joining her at the Sky Bar, or will it just be her and John. She said Keith and Courtney will not be there, and......a very good friend of Chiara named Phil will be subbing for John. I didn't inquire further, but makes you go hmmmmm.

Hard to get a feel for Skybar. The place has been around for fifteen years or longer. Preliminary research shows it's atop the Mondrian hotel and not an easy place for the public (non-guests) to gain access. Their website says, "Guest List Only, Daily 8 PM to 2 AM" As a result, the crowd is likely to be small.
A review from 12/4 (a week prior to Haley's appearance):

Many people have clearly enjoyed it. And from January to April of this year they hosted free shows "The Mondrian Sessions."

My opinion:
If you think you might want to attend, give it a go. This isn't a busy time of year for the hotel industry. Tuesday is usually the slowest night for restaurants and clubs. And it's not summer when that Hollywood rooftop with a pool is the hottest place to be ($600 bottle service!).
Be prepared though that cocktails might run you around $20.

She mentioned something about it being a charity event and something about bringing a gift for the charity. That's what I wanted to research. After drinks last night, as she was leaving, she walked up to me and shook my hand, and said "See you Tuesday"

Hmm, a video of the 2011 water charity ball shows they have an auction during the event.

No, no, you should go. Like I said, the holidays are a dead period for hotels (they depend on business travelers) and Tuesday is dead for bars.
Plus, this is a charity event. That means the hotel isn't running it. They're just the venue. So it's likely open to everyone to attend.

Such auctions usually contain items donated in advance by businesses.
"Bringing a gift" for charity around the holidays is usually a Toys for Tots thing.
