I thought the inflammatory comment from the Chicago Reader had previously been posted. I probably thought better of posting it earlier. Since I've introduced it as a subject, I'll post it now.

It's a great picture. I always like the side-by-side shots of Haley and Patti where you can see the resemblance to one another.

Before leaving the Midnight show, I thanked the Reinharts for an incredible few days. I joked again that I would really love Haley to play up in the NW so I can get in my car, drive to see the show, drive back and sleep in my own bed!! Not have to fly to see her
Harry laughed and said We will! when things start rolling the right way (our way?)
I said, It will

(as I gave Patti a final hug, she said, tell everybody that Midnight should be Haley's backing band, I told her, I think BGDays proved that, for sure

In this case, it was a preview, not a review, based on the words "American Idol." He doesn't appear to be a wannabe singer. He's someone though who takes pride in eschewing mainstream music. In his own words:

I got into it largely for superficial reasons—because it was a weird thing to do—but then I listened long enough that it stopped being a social marker for me. I started listening to jazz records—the kids didn’t think that was cool.
...Older jazz musicians will come to me and say, “Are you a musician? No? Well, how can you write about music then?” My response is, “If you’re not a musician, how can you listen to music?” I don’t analyze stuff musicologically for people. I don’t think people that read The Reader want that.
