I think working and successful celebrities are starting to catch onto the sense that the notoriety they get from these shows, may actually negatively impact their primary career..... If they do, they don't want to risk looking bad by alienating an Idol's fan base with a negative critique, it might have real life impact to their careers...

It remains to be seen how it affects the two Divas currently on Idol.
