Karen had already been voted off by the time I tuned in, so I really didn't have a chance to see her perform. Looking back at the group songs she appeared in on Hiphopgamer's Journey video, she seemed to have a nice voice, but otherwise didn't really stand out. However, she did stand out in the Beyonce Medley on Finale night. I remember thinking, where was this girl hiding. I hope she is able to use that performance as a springboard to a successful career.

Karen was the only one of the top Idols whose initial audition was done remotely over MySpace:

IMO, she looks prettier, and younger, with straight hair. She should lose the bushy hair look.

She sang one of her songs in both English and Spanish. Perhaps that was a strategic move to energize Latino voters. If so, I think it was a mistake because she also lost a lot of potential supporters. It might have been effective though if she had waited until later in the competition after she had developed more of a following.

I agree. When I first saw Haley's swan song performance I noticed Karen's hair and thought the style was very unflattering.
