Nobody wants the Little Single That Could to continue climbing the HAC chart more than me, my friend. Sadly, Free's fall is now a fait accompli. Best we can hope for is she goes down with a good fight before giving way to the anointed one, BoB, and the hit-making cachet his name brings.

Some amazingly good news for FREE! The bleeding somehow stopped, and the song has stabilized! This is a minor miracle, because I'm unfamiliar with any song that's recovered from a 20+ daily spin loss. Truly, FREE is The Little Single That Could! Let's just hope this positive trend continues. Meanwhile, I'll resume daily updates now that the fortunes have changed.

Should this be a positive bounce created from The View/HK and her appearance around the MLB AllStar weekend? Sure wish that the promo's can continue because she's such an infectious and loveable icon, that she easily sells herself each and every apprearance!

Probably a combination of 3 factors.

#1. Her appearance on The View created a big jump in overall requests
#2. Interscope is leaning hard on the stations to keep her spinning
#3. A group of Hardcore Haliens devoting 14+ hrs/day, everyday, to station requests/voting (unbelievable).

Good news/bad news day for Haley. Bad news is the daily spin loss accelerated to -16. Good news is that's still a much slower drop than the free-falling Carrie Underwood, who crashed below Haley to give Free a boost from #34 to #33 on the HAC chart.

The Little Single That Could is aging very gracefully. There's not a lot coming on strong from below, and a few more poised to free-fall from above, so if she can keep the spin losses under 20/day Haley should be able to hang around on the chart for awhile.

Looks like FREE time is over, gang. Haley went into full blown free-fall at the end of last week, dropping 163 spins from my last update on Thursday (524-361). She'll probably fall out of the HAC Top 40 this week, and get purged from the chart like Kris and Adam did a few weeks ago.

Onto the next phase, which by all indications will be the official release of Oh My! as her second single. If so, hopefully Interscope will invest in it as a full blown single, with music video and heavy promo, rather than just a soft radio release for adds and hope for the best. Because BoB has huge name recognition and hit-making credibility, there is a chance they'll go all in.

Time will tell.
