I do hope that THR jumped the gun a bit in this release. First of all, like many I think Nikki Minaj will be an unmitigated disaster as a judge. Good grief, J-Lo's got more talent in her toenail clippings than Ms. Minaj seems to have -- and, since J-Lo's not very musically talented, that is saying a great deal!
Secondly, why, oh why are they neglecting their own folks like Kelly Clarkson or Adam Lambert to judge? Yes, I know -- they've got to compete with the X-Factor signing Britney Spears and Demi Lovato, a choice that, I suspect, the X-Factor will regret before the end of its 2nd season. Given that AI has a much longer history, it should also have some wisdom that coincides with that -- at least, theoretically, it should.
Yes, I know -- theory and reality infrequently mix.
