As I said above, "what a busy young woman!" She's 19, a 3rd medical student ( at 19 --good grief!) and combine that with being a part-time model (which may [or may not] happen here in the States, but I wonder how many would be able to admit it) and a UNICEF ambassador and founder of "School for All Children." A brief look at the website for the "School for All.." is nice...
It might be to better advantage if she would work towards better opportunity within her home country. I could be wrong, and/or politically, it might be easier for her to target areas outside of her own country. (Some years ago, while still a grad student, I met another graduate student while attending a conference about research in education. The person I met was involved in international education and I still remember what she told me: "The French education system shuts down kids [from opportunities] so fast, it brings tears to your eyes." I'm not sure if progress has been made there.) Perhaps, policies have changed in France, but...
Thus, I'm truly impressed with this young woman, and happy that she took a moment to tweet about Haley. I hope that at some point in her life, she will have reached a point where she can feel confident/comfortable enough to point out deficiencies in her own country's education system, and do something about it (assuming that what I was told some years ago still holds true -- unfortunately, I suspect it might).
