In a couple of days I will be giving thanks for having discovered real music and Haley Reinhart. It has even rekindled my love of music in general. Every time I hear her I marvel at her musicality and the rifs she copiously incorporates into her singing. I have never heard anyone like her and can't believe that millions haven't joined us. I hope to see her in concert soon.

I can only explain it in terms of American Idol; the voting plainly shows the listening level of the audience, which is very unsophisticated. The audience beyond, who do not even watch the show, cannot be any better. If only there was a way to get through to more listeners who would recognize her for a legend or could learn to feel her music like we do.

A while back reading up on John Denver I learned that he promoted himself, travelling the country playing gigs wherever he could. He would drop by the local radio station and do interviews and play. Eventually he reached that critical mass of listeners. Maybe that, or some new method in todays electronic world, will be the longer road for Haley to accomplish the same. She has that fire and determination, a big break still awaits and until it comes I think she will slug it out and achieve her own definition of 'success'.

I, for one, can't wait for the next Stageit, local performance or barefoot pix. As a fan I'm in it for the long haul too. Have a great holiday dear Haley, we love you.

Was Pia Toscano "dropped" by Interscope or did she "split" from them? Where do contracts come into play in all this? It was said that Lee DeWyze was "dropped" by his label.

All 3 were dropped, meaning the label decided not to exercise their options to make another album. The only time the artist themselves can walk away is when all options of the contract have been fulfilled.

Guess this means "Listen Up" will now be a hot collectors album. Haley will undoubtably emerge from this and likely earn a more comfortable living because of it. If you're not a country star you have a tougher climb with a smaller more sophisticated audience. I'm looking forward to what the future holds away from the all-for-profit machine. I really enjoy Haley in smaller venues and was almost worried that if she got too big she'd be on a pedestal that very few of her fans could climb up to share with her.

Everyone loves a winner...as the saying goes. Most people experience some sort of elation over the success of the person, team or thing they are following...in the end it is somewhat delusional that we as individual fans have some sort of stake or resulting benefit in the outcome. We experience vicariously with favorable mood swings when our chosen one wins and the corresponding let down when they are losing. Our love of Haley is not about winning and losing...it centers on who she really is and the talent she possesses!

Haley has incredible God-given talents coupled with inward and outward beauty. We all know what we have heard and seen from Haley, and we love it. We don't need confirmation from the masses or the "majority" that she is worthy of our affection. Does the level of our affection change because new fans come on board or fringe fans leave her? I will buy everything she records and look for every opportunity to see her perform regardless of how many followers she has, which I'm sure is also true of everyone in this room.

It is a different musical world these days...reality shows pumping out 20-30 new artists every year and that is just in this country; the explosion of internet based pathways to musical recognition; the concept of music is free if you can download it...all part of the "there are a million singers out there" as one radio host stated to Haley.

Haley will have wonderful opportunities come her way...she is the total package!

From this day forth, "AI" will mean "After Interscope". Haley A.I.

The Sun will rise again and we don't have to be convinced of our girl's talent and potential.

Now the decisions are hers to make, and to make all those connections and relationships she has built in the last year work for her.

Give her time to recover from this blow, she's strong and her "Que Sera" philosophy will be tested, but ultimately help her through this.

That voice won't disappear into the ether, and we will be there to support her.

Wise words, Lord Buzz and T-Man. If we've learned nothing else from her Idol experience, we know how resilient she is. Ultimately, not being locked to the Interscope chain, might be far better for her. Isn't that something she believes -- "everything always works out for the best."

Could be my Halien glasses are on, but that last tweet from Keith makes me feel like they are energised to move forward
