RE: Halien Party - Chicago, Labor Day weekend, 8-31-13
Don't know from hot dogs, but my first trip to Chicago for business, I was told I need to try their steaks, we ate at a restaurant next to the Drake hotel, and boy were they right, best steaks I'd ever eaten .
(ate there 3 times that week)

I'm pretty sure you mean Lou Malnati's, not Luminati's and we have a Lou Malnati's right next to where BG Days Festival is happening. It's not my favorite Pizza but we could do that instead of Jet's Pizza. We also have a Portillos right down Dundee Road about 2 miles from my house and very near where Buzz & his wife are staying. The Bean is in Millenium Park near where Lollapalooza was. We may go there Friday Night after Navy Pier but sadly NUG you won't be here yet. :-( I may be willing to make another trek downtown if you need company - like after I drop off anybody at Ohare.
Haha I just mentioned you said Lou Malnati's - and she started laughing and said that's what she said, but it's "that Chicago fast talking thing" We can have what ever you want! Pizza is a personal thing I guess, because her recommendation spurred a big conversation about which is best, and is NY style or Chi style the best....so much passion over sauce, cheese and crust!
True - depends what you like. I like Chicago pizza better than New York but I am from here. The fold over flimsy NY pizza crust in not my thing. Lou's is famous I ship it to my brother in CA a couple times a year cause he can't get good pizza there. My kids like Lou's a lot but my husband is not a fan. There are a lot of good pizza joints in the Chicago area (and we all have opinions)...

This will be on the mini Jumbotron:
Yes mini jumbotron is an Oxymoron.
Had a wonderful night with Babbs and the Harry Peter Project at Firkin tonight!!! Harry pulled up a chair with us a few times and told us:
* They will be singing 18 songs + 2 more if we beg for an encore!
* The 8 piece band (including Haley, Angie & 2 keyboarders) has been rehearsing like crazy and will do so Wednesday & Thursday Night as well.
* They have a majority of Haley's originals that they are learning to perform together.
* Harry is more nervous about this upcoming night than he was taking the Idol Stage in front of 33 million people.
* I'm really getting excited about this!!!
