I just finished re-reading this entire thread. It was interesting reliving how this whole thing came together, all from that alternate dimension thought that Babbs had. It's funny that through all the plan changes is was actually Babbs original thoughts that came closest to the final result. To think now that I almost didn't go gives me the heebie-jeebies. Thank goodness I was able to "Get Myself Together" (to paraphrase) and make the right decision.

It was hard to concentrate on this putt while Himm was doing his pre-concert filming exercises...

Seriously, this was a recreation of the wackiest shot of the day. I had only about a 100 yd shot to the green, caught the wedge a little thin, and over shot the green by 30 yds. Himm is demonstrating the part of the lower right tree branch, behind him, that I hit...after the ricochet off the tree, the ball ended up right there on the green. The next tee is just to the right of that tree. The foursome in front of us was just teeing off...needless to say I scared the crap out of them.

Sorry to get a bit serious here, but that tree behind Himm, with those low "branches" almost as large as the trunk is absolutely gorgeous and astonishing! How old is the golf course and what type of tree is it? (I'm sorry -- I can't make out the shape of the leaves from the photo.)

The course was built in the 20's and Al Capone had an illegal speakeasy with escape tunnels under the clubhouse during prohibition. Guess you could call it a "Klumpp" of trees. I'll just "leave" it at that.

In regards to Al Capone: Oh! What an intriguing past!

Right after I sent my message (about the tree), I realized that the there is a downward slope and the base of the tree is likely at the bottom of that slope, thus the branches aren't "quite" as low as it might seem. Still, those branches are huge!! That tree's been there since maybe Al Capone days.
