The Voice Season 6
Starts Monday. Pretty excited for it. I think this is the best collection of Coaches/judges/panel that any show has put together. (Blake, Adam, Shakira, and Usher.)

I recall reading about Shakira in the Wall Street Journal before she was well known in America. Probably just before this album:

Gotta admit, at first I was a little underwhelmed by Bria's performance and studio, but after a second listen..I think I'm just so used to Haley's note choices, that it's disappointing to me when a singer does something different. Not as good as Haley..but still quite good.
Tess, her voice is very good. And it's almost like Bria took the Janis version and Tess took the Faith Hill version. (She's not country..but it was much more stiff and...pretty..) I prefer the ugly, but Tess certainly has potential in a different style.
Agreed on note choices.I think that they both overdid it with the embellishments.But that,to me can be a tendency with this show during these battle rounds where it can seem more like an athletic contest than it should.Bria's got a lot of power but we'll have to see what else she has.
But I think that,in general the contestants on this show are showing far more in the way of commitment and energy than their counterparts on Idol.And you can see the advantages on having the mentoring system that they have.
