The Voice Season 6

So... Lives are starting. This is an epically dead thread, but here are pretty much the people worth talking about. (Leaving out Delvin, Kat, Kristen, and TJ..because in all likelihood..they'll be the first few out..)

Team Adam - Killed his team. Like..they are really weak. Christina Grimmie is probably the favorite..but only because of her fanbase. She does have a technically good voice, but something about it just feels like it's missing something to me. (First half of the song gorgeous..second half...not as much.) Her head voice is like..out of this world, though.



Team Shakira - Team Darkhorse. Tess and Dani had probably the best performances of the playoffs. (I thought Dani's was the best overall) I was initially upset with Shakira for keeping Dani over Clarissa, but Dani certainly proved herself. Tess has lost two battles, but she's a really great singer. It'll be interesting to see how these two pop girls distinguish themselves. (Along with Christina.)





Team Usher - I've been most excited about Bria since I first heard her audition. I'm really hoping he'll put as much effort into her as he did Michelle Chamuel, because Bria could be something special. Usher's shown himself to have exceptional taste in music, so for me, Bria's the one to watch. I thought she overdid it a bit with "Wild Horses" but I also know, she probably wanted to make sure to show him everything she can do vocally. And I personally love all of her grit, growls, and goat vibrato.. so it didn't bother me. (But she is polarizing.) Josh is a hardly ever talked about but really strong contender. Excellent steal for Usher..and like Will Champlin last season, despite his looks..he's an R&B singer, so Team Usher is the place to be.





Team Blake - He did the opposite of Adam..started off with the weakest team, ended really strong. Audra's beautiful..and has a beautiful voice. Her Martina choice was perfect . Jake is so sweet..and if he didn't have Christina around, would probably pull a Scotty McCreery. (But seriously, he's so loveable..I wouldn't even mind. Again..quite frankly, I liked Scotty too..even if his musical choices bored me to tears.) And Sisaundra..like Bria..has the tendency to over embellish, but she's fantastic..but Blake's actually the right coach to help her with that.

Sisaundra -- wow, she has quite a voice. Really good. I agree that the key for her is to learn to restrain that urge to go big and add all the vocal bells and whistles. She doesn't need to do that.

I've been watching this year.No doubt there's some strong voices and having a female-centric bunch is not something I would ever complain about.

I have to say that Bria just leaves me cold.Its just one those voices that goes right through me and doesn't leave much to enjoy.Sissauna has great pipes and she may have some moments but overall its too mannered for my tastes.But even if country isn't really my thing I can't deny the quality of Audra's voice and maybe her voice is distinctive enough to find a place in the country world.And I like Tess as well.

But its kind of hard for me to deny the appeal-and the talent of Christina.I'm not much into paying attention to back stories(sometimes I fast forward through them) and I'm not a regular denizon of You Tube so I just recently became aware of how much she's already put out there on You Tube.But a lot of the things on there are pretty impressive,I think in terms of the quality of her voice and musicality,etc.And she's only 20? So its obvious that she wants this pretty bad and you can see on the show that she loves to perform and I won't be disappointed at all if she wins it.

People might want to say that she has an unfair advantage with the following she already had going in but I think that you could also say that she deserves it with all the hard work she put into it.

Anyway I also have to say the overall the quality of the talent wound up being pretty far above that on Idol this year.

I'm the opposite. Love Bria. Like, she could end up in the very exclusive First tier (Michelle and Haley) or second tier (Jacquie Lee, Adam Lambert, Jessica Sanchez, DeAndre Brackensick, Allison Iraheta) of reality television contestants.

Christina, on the other hand. I find to be very unimpressive. Her voice leaves me cold..I find it to be thin..like she's singing the wrong style of music or something. But..I find her, as a person, to be very charming and likable.

Have you seen any of her things on YT? She sounds much more well rounded and,alot of them are just her accompanying herself with the piano.

I have, and that's what my opinion of her has always been.

I love her head voice. It's gorgeous. But I feel like she wants to be a powerhouse type (Like christina aguilera) of singer, but her voice just isn't powerful enough.

I can see where other people would like her. She's not like some former Idol winners where I'm like "x can't really sing that well..." She's good. I just think her voice is a little thin, and for me personally..I don't like it with the style of music she prefers.

Still rooting for Bria but she's starting to disappoint me. Much like Sarah Simmons in S4 Bria hasn't matched her blind audition since. If she doesn't turn it around then I'm rooting for Josh to take it all. #TeamUsher all the way baby!

Yea.

It's all about song choice.

Usually, Usher is spot on. (See Josh Kaufman) but he's seemed to struggle with Bria a bit. She is a tough one to pick for. There's a tendency to want to give her the Janis Joplin songbook, but you make her look old fashioned. Going current..can't pick a well known song like Rolling In The Deep. I liked it, but a lot of people don't like it when you rearrange an Adele song.

She's got to knock it out of the park next week.

I can't find anything appealing in Bria's voice at all.I thought that Tess had one of the better performances on Monday-and then she winds up in the bottom three.Then last night I thought she was subpar and she gets saved. I'm not so sure about having Twitter as the mechanism to save people.

I like her story and her voice. Thought she was Stevie reincarnated on this one. Kat Perkins...Landslide...
