RE: Haley making a video with Scott Bradlee and PMJ
I don't think ragtime is the best use of Haley's voice.
I was hoping for something more seductive sounding.
PMJ, Thrift Shop (Vintage "Grandpa Style" Macklemore Cover) :
Quote:Ragtime fell out of favor as jazz claimed the public's imagination after 1917, but there have been numerous revivals since the music has been re-discovered. First in the early 1940s, many jazz bands began to include ragtime in their repertoire and put out ragtime recordings on 78 rpm records. A more significant revival occurred in the 1950s as a wider variety of ragtime styles of the past were made available on records, and new rags were composed, published, and recorded. (wikipedia)

RE: Haley making a video with Scott Bradlee and PMJ
I think although they make magic together, they both want their own musical identities....
I'm actually glad that even though there's a tangible market for #Caley, they didn't 'follow the $$' and jump on it. I think it might be too much of a good thing if they did and they wouldn't have time explore their own, individual directions.
It's something they can explore further down the line, when they've each established themselves (sprinkling a little collab now and then
