In their shows they do a lot of 60s songs like LA Woman, Sympathy for the Devil, and San Francisco (Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair), which is right in Haley's lane.

Having a famous dad probably doesn't hurt. Lady Gaga sings backup vocals on at least one song and Sheryl Crow has performed with the band. The new album was released in August and they have appeared on Conan, Colbert, and other shows to perform recently. The record still doesn't seem to be getting much traction.

I listened to a Richard Marx podcast with Randy Jackson the other day.

Marx noted Randy was considered the top session bassist in LA when he transitioned to A&R. One of them noted session work was drying up around that time b/c of changes in the music industry.

When they discussed his move from A&R to Idol, Randy related Simon had a similar role at another label. In his pitch to Randy, Simon asked him if he had noticed how TV appearances on late night shows no longer had much impact on record sales.

An outstanding show! I LIKED Haley's disc as soon as I heard it - maybe a week after it came off the press. As a mater of fact, I was interested soley on song choice, and that it's on Concord Records. All but three of the songs on "What's That Sound" are covers from the mid to late '60's, and Haley delivers them with a close semblance to the original versions. The three songs which Haley wrote, or was a part in writing, are not only the highlights of the disc, but 2 of which are some that I continue to think about and listen to even after the completion of this show.

I've heard this whole show in bits, as I've assembled it, and now I look forward to kicking back tonight - to just listen - purely for entertainment.

Interview on the Heather Dubrow World podcast from 9/22.

I wondered if she was related to Kevin Dubrow, the recently deceased lead singer of the '80s 'Hair Band", Quiet Riot, who is now replaced by Season 10's James Durbin.....I was close....

In 1999, Dubrow married Terry Dubrow, a plastic surgeon. Terry is the younger brother of the late heavy metal singer Kevin DuBrow, who performed in the band Quiet Riot.
