I agree a Christmas album of originals and standards would be awesome. I also could see Haley putting out random singles, too. She has been able to do that with PMJ, various artists features, baby it’s cold outside, Santa I just want you, can’t help falling in love (which turned into and EP turned album) and most recently I believe she plans to record and release time of my life in some capacity whether stand alone or attactched to a project. I would be pleased with random singles released from time to time to add to my repertoire to play on repeat until the next album comes along. I would love it.

Side bar. I can say without a doubt Haley is the most successful idol of her season. She has the most albums, singles, streams and monthly listeners on Spotify. And she’s not slowing down. Not surprised, just goes to show she really won that season...

But, she cautions, “I don’t want people to think that I’m simply a covers artist,” which is why she pushed for three originals on “What’s That Sound?”

Her new label, Concord Records, gave her the ability to take control, granting her the title of co-producer. “I had about four deals on the table earlier this year, but I decided to go with Concord because they are my dream label and so artist friendly. They let me take the reins and do what I wanted.” ...

Also, I just realized another song that came out in the 60's that would've been perfect for Haley to cover!



Honestly though... That's my love for Sister Act talking. Wishing for Haley to cover that song is more my want than something she personally should do. Though I do think she would sing it beautifully.

Maybe that's why I can't stop tweeting her about the movies? I just want to know if she likes them.

Especially since there's a rumor of a remake and she would kill it as Deloris IMO. So yeah. Hey, she did say that next on her list was acting SO. Sigh...

Hate to say it, but if you follow movies at all nowadays, "whitewashing" is a big deal and the negative impact as a repercussion has sunk quite a few movies.

Whitewashing is the act of casting Caucasians in roles that are meant to be played by actors of a different nationality, race or color..Ghost in the shell, Gods of Egypt, even Dr Strange got hit with that ( though the political impact of casting a Tibetan in a movie that's set to run in China, it's somewhat understandable why they made the change....). One example of whitewashing killing a movie was the uproar over casting Johnny Depp as Tonto in the Lone Ranger

Casting Haley in the role formerly played by an African American, one as famous as Whoopi, I think would result in quite a major negative impact for the producers and Haley....

True. And you make a good point, but unless you're a Sister Act super fan like myself... You might be unaware that Bette Midler was originally supposed to play the lead.

So in that case... I don't think people would make a big deal/call it whitewashing. IMO

Now if she wanted to audition for the part of red-headed Sister Mary Robert? That wouldn't surprise me, but she'd have to wear a wig... Not weird for Haley. As she's done that before.

In other words... If the project came up... Haley should run to it and not away from it. IMO

Would there be people who would be shocked at a white Deloris? YES. Would it upset Whoopi Goldberg? Highly doubt it as I remember her reaction (Big hug.) to Haley's "Free" The View performance.

Maybe I'm just in love with the idea too much. I don't know. I'm sorry for spazzing. lol
