Q: Finally, what do you think separates Haley Reinhart from anyone out there today?

A: I’m sure there are other artists who are completely living out their dreams. I feel really honored to not only do that, but to include my family in a lot of stuff. This has become a huge album for me. Not only is this my first vinyl, but my dad plays guitar on it and my mom does background vocals on it as well. It’s really special.

Some of the answers reveal more of a business focus.

What are some of the challenges that you faced throughout your career in the music industry? How did you overcome them?

It can be tough being a young woman having to trust all these people around you that you’re relying on and paying out — to make things happen for you. I’ve had to change up my team quite a bit from the start. It’s always a good thing to grow and let go and grow again. I feel more than content with the people I have chosen to be in my inner circle at this time in my life.

What advice would you give to aspiring singer-songwriters who want to be in the music industry?

It’s okay to let your intuition take you all the way. Trust in yourself and the rest will follow. Success and fame are two different things. Put yourself first and remember you are the boss, you are your brand. Lead the way to your destiny.

Also, I don't recall her saying this about her Idol experience before:

I went to that audition with a new found confidence in myself and my vocal power. I was super relaxed. I continued to set my goals higher and higher throughout the show, with little to no fear or doubt in my mind.
