Oh boo hoo. Haley didn't sell like an established artist.

Let's wallow about it instead of supporting her and being positive!

@LegallyR..., it is what it is, so obviously some folks are dissappointed because we are all such fans of hers..... Hell, she gets more support here than probably anywhere outside of her home! What I'm hoping is that her management will keep getting her some gigs.. The late night TV shows, maybe appearances on other TV shows, some more ballpark Natl Anthems, anywhere that she's on camera is a winner for our gal.. another video wouldn't be a bad thing either. Maybe a few strategic "cameo's" on the Idol Summer Tour too! Whatever.. I firmly believe that she'll become mega-established and not in the too distant future!
I'm actually thinking that although kind of off the main path of her album, the ballad UNDONE, is going to blowup huge

Let's all keep in mind that Haley is in for the long haul, a true professional. As Tony Bennett told her, "whatever happens, you have to keep on singing." Great advice!

We can't be afraid for her or be discouraged if the numbers or reviews don't match up with our expectations...it doesn't change a thing about Haley or the reason we follow her.

I think I have learned the most from my critics, because they were willing to give me their unvarnished viewpoint. You have to examine what they are saying to see if there is any truth in it, then you can work on strengthening those weaknesses. Those who tell you what you want to hear are not necessarily doing you any favors.

You can't get too high from the praise or too low from the criticism, both can be valuable, but those who really care about you need to encourage you and share the truth with you in a loving way.

Wow...was I a little OTT? Too many life lessons in one sitting? I'll put the soap box back in the storage shed.

....seriously.... We've waited this long and have been rewarded with an album and songs beyond what we could have hoped for and this is what we do after one day?

I dropped off one CD that I bought in LA to my sister-in-law and made her promise that she would listen to it at least twice. I gave one to my mother and told her I expect her or her friends to come up with a dance routine to any one of Haley's songs (Believe it or not, she was very impressed with the beat and the vibe of "Oh My"...the rap didn't even phase her. She said she's seen many dancers dance to songs with rap in it. She also liked "Free" alot.)

Probably the same one's playing Chicken Little today (general term of reference not directed at you Flaskman for your above post, obviously you didn't do this...have to make this clear even though I'll be accused of it anyway the way it's been going)....

I had two of them beg me to upload songs to the internet so we can "help promote Haley" even after giving me crap for not 'being cool' with basically giving the album away for free. What balls they had..... SMH

Funny? I don't see anywhere in my post accusing anyone of quitting on Haley....I swear sometimes I feel I'm speaking another language.... (I'm accused of bagging on Haley's thighs when all I did was point out her pants might be grey because of the lights....I thought I was posting in English, but somehow words are being put into my mouth...)

It's not about who quit on Haley, it's about staying positive and spreading the word....Read the posts at IDF and mjs, it's as if Haley shouldn't have even tried. She's failed before day two after her debut, the way some of these 'fans' are reacting.
Why spread the negative, why not focus on the positive, of a quality album by a quality new artist.

If you've followed Haley's journey at all you know she doesn't shy from adversity, and has the tools to handle what she comes up against. It's always been an uphill battle for her since Idol, and her parents have prepared her well for show business....critics to the left of me critics to the right, and we fans have held on with her...That's all I'm asking....keep the faith.

I also remember in her interview Haley was talking about she wasn't so much concerned about the sales of her album as much as she was getting the point across. Being able to make her own music and share it with her fans. And if Haley's content with that I am to.

CHILL........it's early yet! Albums only been out 1 day......a little too early to tell anything yet!

Adele did not make it here in the US till after a year and a second album. When one song gets popular people will search out the rest just like the rest of Adele's album after Rolling rolled a few months (and Haley covered it). We are in tune but the masses haven't heard the songs yet.

Last year's third-place finisher, Haley Reinhart, is on course for a top 20 debut as well with her debut set, "Listen Up."

Thanks, Miguel. Sales are down across the board, so she's not really competing against anyone from any other time. Debuting in the Top 20 is terrific for any new artist! Let's hope she can do that!
