That's ultimately the thing...Do you go to a ballet, expecting a brawl? Do you go to a bull fight expecting a tea party?
I can't understand people offering an opinion on something they don't obviously like, especially veilling it as 'helpful advice'...and on top of that, different genre's have different ways of communicating with it's audience.
James' genre, Heavy Metal and Rock and Roll, has him being high energy, feeding the crowd and being fed by the crowd.
In the same way that Haley's current genre, it is better to focus on the voice and vocal interpretation, her vocal instrument, no need for pyrotechnics and coordinated dance moves. She was never going to be, nor ever admitted to wanting to be the next Katy Perry.
Why do you think in my vids, I often zoomed in to catch her facial expressions? She is subtle and nuanced in her delivery when she slips into 'Jazz Mode'... she flashes a smile, raises an eyebrow, closes her eyes to 'feel' the music and rhythm, all the while singing with such vocal clarity and texture (oxymoron?

)
Don't get me wrong, she can bring the energy too, when it's warranted, less you forget the one and only time she rapped...
