RE: Residual negativity from fans of other idols
It often happens with contestants who get the polarizing edit on Idol.
Look at Adam Lambert, sure, the guy speaks his mind..but pretty much every individual in the entertainment industry that has worked with him talks about how genuinely nice he is. Many would rate him as the best idol ever, objectively. And yet, you can barely mention his name on some sites because of the vitriol that inevitably occurs.
I think with these contestants, it's not necessarily a matter of whether the blogger likes or dislikes the contestant, it's simply the extreme emotions that a performer provokes which causes the blogger to have to start banning people. And I've noticed, no matter the contestant/performer, it's always the fans of the performer that seem to be perceived poorly, not the "haters."
