RE: "Listen Up!" - Debut Week Sales (Total)
The mistake from a sales/marketing perspective was the long wait. Haley had her album finished by early January. Free was recorded in August. She had BICO hit in November, could have rode that and her still-fresh Idol cred by dropping Free for adds in January, and then Listen Up! in March. The added months of darkness pushed Haley completely out of the public's consciousness, and her sales probably plummeted by 50% as a result.
I think 19/Interscope kinda screwed her. That said, sales are not as important as the quality of the product. Her album is fantastic, and even if it tanks and the label boots her she'll still land on her feat and make it work. No doubt about it.
