Sitting in for my brother at the office while he's on vacation among other things so I've been distracted.
...but I wanted to add my 'welcome' to all the recent Haliens climbing aboard, the more the merrier.

I tweeted just before the album was released that I had a touch of melancholy about the long journey with Haley coming full circle. That when the initial hoopla of the album release wore off Haley would return to a more normal life with much less tweeting, fans would move on with other interests, and Halien world would become a much quieter, less active place. I think we're seeing that starting to happen now, and while there will still be a few die hards straggling around, the wide-spread, mass-trending, daily-voting/requesting fanaticism will surely fade away.

Of course, if Haley becomes a huge megastar, with platinum albums and tabloid celebrity the frenzy would return, but that's not going to happen now or anytime soon. It's a bit of a reflective time for us even as we look ahead to her future. The true end of the American Idol Haley era occurred shortly after release day, May 22nd, and now we go on with life as we always knew it before the Halien madness took hold of our worlds.

It's normal, healthy, and doesn't mean we're not wonderful fans. It's just reality. As the old .38 special song goes, you hold on loosely, but don't let go. I'm sure being among the most devoted, we will continue to follow her career every step of the way, but maybe not obsess over small details. Time marches on...

Miguel, I would like to compliment you on and thank you for a site well done. Many of you will recognize me from posts initially made on the American Idol forums, the now apparently defunct iheartreinhart site, and most recently IDF. I took a one month hiatus from posting at IDF in hopes that I could wean myself from my Haley fan(aticism). It didn’t work. I have not been able “to go on with life as we always knew it before the Halien madness”. Therefore, I must not be “normal” or “healthy”, but I am a happy Halien.

Although, the buzz (not buzzenator) about Haley has not been a wildfire like I would have hoped there continues to be a buzz. She has gained over 56K twitter followers since the beginning of April of this year and over 3K twitter followers since 8/25. She still has enough twitter support to muster a worldwide trend wishing her a happy birthday. Her new members on this site (including me) continue to grow.

I will sustain my optimism that “Listen Up!” will perform well enough worldwide that we will get a sophomore album. For me, the most important things are Haley’s happiness and enough Haley success to permit new music to be produced, sung and enjoyed for as long as Haley is willing to do so.

Funny about the month off. I've worried about myself for my interest in her Career myself..but I keep coming back and I really think it's all about the music.

Not that I fault other's for it but it's reassuring to me that I'm not terribly interested in the birthday stuff and personal interviews when she's not talking about the industry or the process.

I'm comfortable being a cult follower of her music... glad I don't know her favorite color.

There is something special about her interpretations of songs that speaks to me ... and something about how she juxtaposes thoughts that is entirely natural and soothing for me... and that interpretation is by choices of what notes to hover on all how to color them and you can say things without any notes at all.

Haley album really had a lot for me. Norah Jone's first album was about the only other in the last 20 years.. (I might start a thread on a Norah jones comparison...they are different but both have a certain outside the convention view of life and love)

I know I'm in it for the music ... and I like learning about new fields so following her path, hearing evey cover and performance of songs she does is both a musical odyssey and a window to the music business.

That album definitely needs a grammy nod for BEST NEW ARTIST to give it a boost. It is so worth it. It is a well made CD.

Welcome James...so glad you brought your voice of reason to Miguel's site. Some of my family members question my interest in Haley's music and career. I like to hunt, fish, golf, watch sporting events and listen to Haley's music. No one questions the other interests/hobbies, but somehow following Haley's career is deemed, dare I say the word "creepy". I don't understand that...she has a unique, and maybe once in a lifetime voice that is totally mesmerizing.

If celebrating the gift that Haley has and watching it unfold over time is considered not normal (whatever normal is) then I'm different, dancing to the beat of a different slayer.

Haley is too good of a singer/performer to ever be obscure again. The fact that she has incredible inner and outer beauty will continue to captivate others over time. Slow and steady wins this marathon. We will have new music from her for a long time...I have a lot of faith in her talent!
