RE: Funny Videos
Dad's Life - LOL - Very cool Buzz, I thought of you while posting it, so glad you liked it (and maybe hadn't seen it already). Your reply made my day (but then again, I did just get out of bed).

LOL I knew Jerry Reed from the Smokey and the Bandit days...didn't realise he was also a musician 'til much later
Tusk, it's easy not know or dismiss Jerry Reed's musianship, not just because of Smokey and the Bandits. He'd had some hits (i.e. "Guitar Man;" and "Amos Moses"), but the gist of those songs, at least when Jerry Reed performed them, was a certain foundation of humor. As a result, people who didn't recognize his skills, thought of him a just a "fun character."
So, I appreciate that you found the youtube video with Chet Atkins. Whenever I hear -- or even think of Chet -- I always hear my mother repeating what she'd heard him say once: "yeah, I read music -- but not enough to hurt my playing."
I think think your youtube link is a sterling example. Thanks for finding it.

I think think your youtube link is a sterling example. Thanks for finding it. I knew he always had a humorous take to anything he did, that seemed to be a popular form of entertainment at the time, the limerick/sing song/ guitar playing types...maybe a result of entertainers who had a vaudeville background. (Roy Clark comes to mind)
As far as Chet Atkins, he's mostly outside of my bailiwick....all credit goes to LovinDa... she placed the breadcrumbs for me to find
