RE: Bad power outage
I'm already a glass half empty kinda guy....I need the sun to counter that (especially when the summer dresses come out )
The grey is so oppressive.
But in general, there have been disastrous weather issues all over the States in recent years (global warming, Mayan apocolypse?), and the worst we get *fingers crossed* are windstorms and a couple days, maybe a week, of heavy snow fall....so ya....could be much worse.
BTW, not weather, but hopefully our Haliens in Colorado are OK

It's odd. I spent my first five years of life in Yuma, Arizona, then my dad retired and my family moved to Eastern Washington. I never, ever adjusted to winter there and was absolutely miserable. I've been in Seattle 19 years now, and acclimating to the mild climate here was just too easy. BTW, what you referred to as a "heavy snowfall" here isn't even a heavy snowfall -- Seattle is just not equipped to deal with any snowfall (in any way, shape, or form).
I don't mind the cloudiness at all. That said, I can empathize with those who would like to see the sun a bit more.
And, yes, I hope our Haliens in all distressed areas (whether weather- or fire-related) are OK.

Isit true that the suicide rate is high in Seattle because of the lack of sunlight.?
