Not anymore it's been 7 years since I played in a band. I really miss it but unfortunately I had a horrific construction accident and did a lot of damage to my shoulder and forearm. Which developed into osteoarthritis.So it's very difficult for me to play for any length of time because my fingers will cramp up and I have no more strength in my fret hand. So I just play for my own enjoyment I sold all my guitars and I have one left and that's a Les Paul studio. I really enjoy the blues ,Chicago blues, Delta blues, country blues, swamp blues. From Robert Johnson to John Notto , and Btw tell MR Babbs the basement is a good place to play.

That's too bad you can't play anymore.
Mr. Babbs still has all his guitars,(7 or 8 I think). He talks about selling some of them, but just cant bring himself to do it. He has a Les Paul too, I think he paid 1900$ for it. But whats funny is, his favorite guitar is an acoustic that he bought from some lady when we were house hunting years ago. I think he paid her 40$ for it.

Sept 18 1970, 42 years ago, Jimi Hendrix passed.

Made a reference to the Monkees in another thread and was reminded that they were the group Jimi Hendrix appeared on a major tour to open for. Found this amusing article about how that came about

The booking of psychedelic rock god Jimi Hendrix with the made-for-television Monkees was the brainchild of Hendrix's manager, Mike Jeffery, who was seeking greater public exposure for a young client who was a budding star in the UK, but a near-unknown in his native United States. It was in the UK, in fact, that Monkee Mike Nesmith first heard a tape of Hendrix playing while at a dinner party with John Lennon, Paul McCartney and Eric Clapton. Nesmith and his fellow Monkees Peter Tork and Mickey Dolenz became instant Jimi Hendrix fans, and after witnessing his legendary performance at the Monterey Pop Festival in June 1967, they encouraged their own manager to invite the little-known but highly respected Jimi Hendrix Experience to join their upcoming U.S. tour

He only opened for 7 shows though after leaving (rumoured that he left raising his middle finger to the crowd on the seventh show) because of the reception he got from the Teeny boppers coming to see the Monkees

Mickey Dolenz later recalled, "Jimi would amble out onto the stage, fire up the amps and break out into 'Purple Haze,' and the kids in the audience would instantly drown him out with 'We want Daaavy!' God, was it embarrassing."
