I really got into guitarists in the mid 80's and 90's, There were so many amazing artists with the pyrotechnics.....

Vai's guitar brought this album from 'ok' to pretty good

Then there is the amazing Michael Schenker and his seminal album, "Built To Destroy" (His brother Rudolph Schenker, along with Mathias Jabs, were the guitar duo in the German band, The Scorpions)

The Intro to "Rock My Nights Away" still give me goosebumps...I got to see him tour to support this album too Awesome 'driving in your car on a summer day" song.


And of course, it wouldn't be right to leave Joe Satriani out of the list, with the amazing album, "Surfing with the Aliens"
Highlight songs on the album are, "Surfing with the Alien"
"Always with Me, Always with You"

I remember we went camping way back when way away from the city lights, to watch the Perseid meteor shower. Without the city lights or any man made lights, you can see the milky way and all the meteors hitting the atmosphere....it was unbelievable, and we had "Surfing With The Alien" as our background music...so appropriate
If you get any album from Joe Satriani, this is the one to get...unbelivable guitar album. One of my all time favourite albums...Highly recommended (I posted a 'full album' link, but it had issues so replaced it)

Heck T-Man, I never even heard of Alcatrazz But I love the "Jet to Jet" video you posted! And Eddie, love the D.Roth days of =VH=. Not a big Satriani fan, I mean I can hear how great he is, but the feel of his music rubs me the wrong way.

Speaking of new to someone, I recently received a Brian Setzer Orchestra "Live in Japan" DVD from a friend. I was impressed at what a fantastic guitarist Brian Setzer really is (I thought he was just OK before watching this DVD). And what a fun show in so many other ways as well. There are so many guitar diamonds, and other gems, throughout the entire concert.

Here's the Complete Concert. IMHO, a must see.
