Part of Jett's legacy is her longevity and no muss no fuss rock and roll. Lita was certainly beautiful but that's what people remember her for, not her music. (Though one hell of a lead guitar as the vid posted by the gracious Ms. LovinDa selflessley prepared for us shows )

RE: Music Videos - Cool, Clever, Fun, Artistic, Odd or Just Plain Silly
Ok.. guess this thread is wandering a bit,
but here is one of the most charming girls I've seen lately(last couple years)... just beuatiful and yeah, I don't necesarrily need sexy (although I suppose she could be that too if she wanted)
I wonder if she, Joanna Jones could make it on American Idol ? I'm not sure she fits the mold they're looking for and she might be 24 years old or something now... (way too old not to be early fodder most of the time on Idol these days ; ) )
btw The Sing-Off is canceled I guess... I think they went to up-budget and crashed because of it - I didn't know about it the first season but watched the last 2 and have to say they were some of the best TV I've seen .... perfect leading up to the holidays... less glitz and more singing than Idol, loving judges that could also criticize in a helpful way and just packed with kids young and bright and preparing to face the world after college
Ok -- here's another from the same group that fits the "plain silly" in the thread title
One thing that made me feel so good about the show was that on top of the quality music, seeing how these young people today appear to have put asside all the racial crap our country has behind us...maybe thats taking too much from the few behind the scenes things I saw on the show over the weeks but it sure felt that way... and its a nice visual representation or example of possibilties whether true or not.

Great set(s) T-Man, but it was more like a double "video hour" for me. There was so much new to me that I just had to research and do some addition viewing on This was the longest time I've spend yet as a result of a single post. Thank you- all of it was interesting, at the very least.

Next to Casey's and Haley's studio performance of "Hit the Road Jack" this video, "The Backbeats - Landslide" was the treat of the year for me personally. What a terrific mix in that group! And even though 5 Hearts is my top rating... I'll risk getting arrested and give them 6 for that arrangement and performance.
I don't watch TV or read the papers so I didn't know about the show, but in my literal opinion it's a dying shame it was cancelled.

Thank you- all of it was interesting, at the very least. You're very welcome, that was my intent... I tried to not post your 'typical' female artists at first, but ended with the Dixie Chicks and Karen Carpenter... that's where it took me
Just curious, who peaked your curiousity the most? I'm gonna guess Garbage and/or the Breeders..? Lilly Allen has a unique style, sound and look and an "Eff 'em" attitude to her.
Edited Version of "F*ck Yo*" (anti racist/bigot song)
She also sounds great live too, a live version of "The Fear" love her accent <3
Sure the Billy Joel vids were performance audios, but they were more 'artistically' performed than the album versions. I was going to post them in the Piano/Keys thread, but it was LovinDa's reply that made me think about Catholics and OTGDY, so I posted it here. Then I saw other great versions of his songs so added on. Just went with where the thought took me
And my female videos started off 'clever' at the very least 'artistic' and some comical (Spice Girls)... I'm not sure I went that far off topic.

T-Man, you're so right about Lily Allen being the one who peaked my curiousity most. We're also in agreement about her unique style, sound and look, and "Eff 'em"" attitude. She's a new favorite and she's all I've been playing on my iPod since watching the first vid of hers you posted yesterday.
The first thing that caught my attention was how many views her videos have! Wow, so many in 7 and 8 digits. I'm floored that I don't remember ever hearing of her (but then again I don't watch TV or listen to the radio).
Her attitude was the second biggest factor that drew me in. Yes, as you put it, "Eff 'em", but in a chill, fun, cool, honest and good way (which I'm sure you'd agree). I particularly like how her thick Cockney accent in her older stuff fits her 'tude so well.
But the thing that lassoed me were the lyrics. She sings about things which if coming from a Spice Girls type group (or a Brittany or a Gaga) would just sound dirty to me and only add to why I think they're so skanky. Like in her "Not Fair" video below, "Oh, I lie here in the wet patch in the middle of the bed.... I'm feeling pretty damn hard done by, I spent ages giving head..."- Love the song and video.
But the main reason she's getting all my iPod play time is her voice and the jazzy way she uses it. She slammed me down hard and tied me up all rodeo with her voice and singing style. But there hasn't been a time while listening to her that I wanted to borrow Melinda Doolittle’s line, “Sang Heffuh”. No doubt my view of Lily Allen and her music is being affected by how much I can relate to her persona and the stories she sings, but I love her voice and style nonetheless.
And OMG, yes, "unique". I'm still not sure what genre to put her under (which is very unusual for me and part of the fun). Indie pop is where I'm leaning, or maybe alternative pop. Hell, I just don't know. But I do know this is perhaps the biggest reason I'm willing to stay as captivated by her as I am, for now.
As for the other videos and performers, The Corrs also took me on a pretty long ride, but not so grand that I want to make this post longer than it already is.
Nothing else really grabbed my attention for longer than just watching the video you posted, but I enjoyed them all. Thank you.
Lily Allen - Not Fair
PS. And the ""F*ck Yo*" (anti racist/bigot song)" video is terrific!
