Thanks John for doing so much legwork in gathering these videos. "Undone" is clearly a song that will be around for years to come because it's so relatable.

Thanks alpha, it was fun to explore these. I amazed at all the stuff out there that uses Undone as the soundtrack (and how many covers have been done). The song seems to have a lot of appeal in Europe and Russia -- lots of Russian videos.

The themes of the videos including breakups, death and other losses, and sports failures. It is used a lot in dance recitals and exhibitions, and talent shows (dance and singing). There are a quite a few videos that have neutral themes and use the song because it's a pretty song.

It's too bad Haley never really embraced this song. I really love it. It's easy to sing along to.

I think it would have done well as a single, especially after Step Up: Revolution came out. And it's amazing how many people around the world have heard this song.

I just think that Haley did not like the ballad tone to it. She would not have recorded it if she did not like it. I agree she did not embrace it - maybe because she did not want to be seen as an Adel copy cat with the music style - i dunno???

Nope, she couldn't warm up to it because it was too "down" and she's an upbeat kind of person so had a hard time connecting with it. She also is well aware that people connect with it, but still hesitates with it....

I just happened to be looking at the last couple months of Haley videos on Youtube and in this interview from Taiwan, she explains her hesitating with "Undone". It's not the first time, she's expressed this about "Undone", but the most recent time she's expressed her feelings about singing it.

Undone, is a little bit.. hard for me, only because I'm a very happy person...and it is very sad. I mean, it's kind of a tear jerker, and you know even people that have listened to it for the first time, they said that they...cried. And that's...Crazy to me, uh and it's a ballad you know and I'm a much more a 'uptune' person, but uhm, I know that it connects with people alot, so I think that that's a wonderful thing, it's just that it's difficult, a little bit, when I'm not feeling in that sad place, you know what I mean? I gotta do a little bit of acting (giggle)....

Also in a very early interview, she kind of mentioned that they 'hinted' that the album needed a ballad, so she was helped to write "Undone"....so even at that stage of the game, she was hesitating about that kind (sad) of song....

It could be that Haley is not ready to sing that song in a concert setting yet but a comment was made that she cowrote it and she did record it. A lot of artists have sad balladson their albums ,my opinion is I think she could embrace it and sing it but she doesn't want to give away that sensitive side but keep her happy upbeat side to her if that makes sense. Letting her fans know that she's upbeat all the time Undone is a beautiful ballad in its reality anybody who's had a broken heart or had part of it ripped out of them can understand the words to this song it's very relatable. This is my opinion but I believe it if this song were to ever get released on the radio it would skyrocket. And I don't think it has anything to do with Haley copying Adele and her sad songs. Somebody please put this on a soundtrack or on the radio.

^ Thanks for all the work John. I know you, like others here, find the whole Undone concept somewhat unexplainable. We all love the Haley Que Sera attitude and inspirational advice to everyone...look for the good in a bad situation. However, she is in the music business too, which means you have to produce music that people want to buy and listen to. If your first album has a hit that you do not expect to be the hit, what is wrong with that...simply because you are a happy person all of the time? Reality has sad times as well as happy times and if someone can musically tap into those feelings with a great song, well, that is musical creativity also. Celebrate the unexpected success of musically helping people to embrace their inner feelings of love and loss.
