RE: James Durbin: Era 2.0
His drummer Jeff Fabb is MIA cause he's filling in for Black Label Society until November 25th. Heidi tweeted that the show has been postponed to a later date.
That's all we know so far, but I think there might be something fishy going on, we discussed this at length on MJs last night:

We've since learnt that the Rosenbergs are very influential in the Santa Cruz music scene and sponsor a lot of the gigs at the Catalyst. It depends on who cancelled the gig, if it was James, while it's out of character, it probably means nothing. If it was the venue then I smell I big fat stinky rat. But still speculation at this point. There does however appear to be hostility between James and Dylan, James and Tyler appear to be OK though.

Aside from the "LA Bunz" studio snippet on YouTube everything we've heard so far has been acoustic. James mentioned writing a pop punk song and the songs he performed acoustically sound more like alt rock or indie rock than hard rock. That said James Michael specializes in hard rock so there may be some hard rock/he'll give the songs a hard edge but there'll definitely be no metal (James shot down that theory on twitter). So I don't know what to expect but I know not to expect a metal album, and maybe not even an all hard rock album. What I think is more important though is that the album will have more diverse and mature subject matter. James has found other things to write about besides his love for Heidi and his victory over bullying. I'm one of the fans who prefers "metal James" over "WGWG James" but he always sells the softer stuff to me too.
