Steel Panther are very well known in the metal world but they're viewed by most as a cheezy 80s hair metal parody-like throwback band. You might remember them by their old name they went by back in the 80s - Metal School.

Still they have a pretty big and stable fanbase and they regularly pack the house whenever they're in town. They've always been very supportive of James and this is the 3rd time he's performed with them. So that's cool with me even though I'm not into them myself.

And yeah James sings circles around Michael Star and he knows it, he always lets James do the high notes.

Yeah. James is a way better musician.. not only the tone and ease hitting the high notes but the infectious sort of way he rocks the rhytyms with emphasis and crispness.

I wasn't impressed at all with Steel Panthers. guess I'm used to legendary guitar and bass and drummers.. not 'pretty good' ones.

I gotta go hear more of James with his own band.. I really enjoyed those clips. I think a few of his band members(the ones I heard on that christmas song) are a good notch higher than those steel panther guys.

Just wrote another absolutely killer song!! It's gonna be so hard to pick what makes the final cut. They're all so frickin stellar!!

I remember in some of his interviews during the MOABD era he said that he found songwriting difficult. I guess that's changed now, he has a knack for mastering new skills quickly.
