Thanks for finding/sharing this, T-Man. Nice to get a taste of what's happening in Philly, but I must say, the sound quality makes me appreciate your wisdom and selflessness at Lolla even more (than before). Thnx MAE but it makes it more fun when you can share so, all for the cause .
(I will have to figure out how to get decent sound without having to be so far back though... guess I got lucky in LA with the sound and being up front, but, I'd like to be up front and still get good video/audio in the future )
I found out last week that I had enough miles for a free round trip ticket to anywhere in the continental US and was actually contemplating making this show... (wish I knew this before I booked Carnegie )
I think I'll save it for wherever her first official tour show starts

Regarding the first bolded statement, if someone can do this, you will be the one to find that way -- of that, I have no doubt!
Regarding the second bolded sentence, yes, it is too bad that you didn't know before booking the Carnegie gig, but you immediately "got your Haley on" with the "que sera, everything happens for a reason" attitude, and now, you'll have an extra performance you hadn't planned on! Something else to look forward to!

I wouldn't mind some advice about audio/video taping a live show (for good audio). Midnight mentioned something about using an external microphone, but I don't think that would help with things like the bass and speaker distortion.
I have two cameras so maybe I use one further away (placed somewhere out of view) for the audio, and the other camera close up for the video (then edit them together in 'post')....
If she ends up starting her tour on the west coast, like LA, I'll pay for that, and 'maximize' my "free ticket" for a show further away, a big one, maybe in NY or Chicago again
(keeping a positive attitude that there will be a tour )

RE: Sept 16, 2012 - Haley performing at a Philadelphia marathon
I am finally coming out in the open.. I confess that I posted the vids from Philly today. Sorry for the (lack of) quality since I used my iPhone and ran out of memory (sorry for the hard stop on Undone). I have never done ANYTHING like this before and stood righ up front to get a good view. It felt like Haley and her band did the LOUD version of each song...she was great as usual but in some songs it was hard to hear her voice over the instruments. My husband stayed back further and lucky him, he can still hear!
Getting back to the concert, I have watched all the Haley videos and am amazed at how polished and professional she performed. She was filing in for another performer at the last minute and most people were there because of the race and not to see her. Regardless, she seemed delighted to sing and entertain. It was nice the hear all her standards plus "Now That You're Here" which I hadn't heard live in a while. One observation about her covers, HTRS and Oh Darlin... which were outstanding...when she sings them she really seems more confortable moving around and rockin out compared to when she sings her own songs. I guess this will come with experience.
I am not a big Idol fan since I moslty like new songs (not covers) and usually follow alternative artists like Jack White, Metric, Fun. I stumbled on Haley by accident on Idol since my daughter is an Idol fan. She kept mentioning Haley and I finally paid attention and found her voice, style and sound amazing. After watching the Moanin duet especially I was all in! Since Listen Up! came out I have been addicted like allot of you reading this.
I have enjoyed this site tremendously and have found it informative, entertaining and hilarious. Keep up the good work, Halians.

It even kind of drowns out her voice. Maybe it was just the angle of where they were filming One of the things I wished they could adjust on LU is how loud the drums are on NTYH....NTYH is still one of my very favorites, hope we get a vid with better audio...it sounds like all the musicians had license to go off the basic melody....the drumming is snappier and Notto adds some nice touches I had not heard on this song before.... Is this one of the first performances of NTYH with a full band?

A new WTF moment story....Thnx for the vids
I'm starting to think the Halien fandom has shrunk somehwhat (that 'stageit' show still hasn't even sold 100 tix yet ) So I'm always grateful for Halien vids. We need as many Haliens as many places as possible as not to miss these moments .... Thnx
(Hope someone got "Oh My" ) ...bonjojet said he got the whole show in HD and will post soon

"Free" and Undone here (partial )... she should really consider sitting for this one, it suits the performance better.
Great to hear "Undone" on stage...I'd love to see "Lets Run Away" performed live. Wish Keith on keyboards wasn't hidden so far back as he can get very animated with the music and that adds to the experience. Hard to tell if it was even Keith. It was a real treat to see "Spiderman" & "Oh My" at Lollapalooza. Nice that they change it up a bit with each performance.
It was a blessing Tusk for Haley to do an acoustic set at the Girl Scout gig because I wanted to be close enough to the stage to zoom in on her expressions and not get bass/drum distortion. When filming The Buckinghams before Haley came on I got some distortion because of the full band but not as bad as I did at Lolla right next to the speakers.
Himm2, I'm in total agreement with you about Keith. While, initially, I was dismayed in the way Keith was brought in, he's just SOO good at improvising and providing really good "licks" for Haley to work with. I've also been impressed with his sensitivity (see initial tweet in the "Happy for Haley" thread). And, finally, I love his enthusiasm!! Particularly demonstrated in those few vids that show him at the Lolla show, this kid was having a blast! He wasn't upstaging Haley, and was definitely there to support her, but he enjoyed every second. Keith's a treasure!
