"Listen Up!" being replenished at retailers?

Maybe...but they need to release "Undone" as a single soon...2012 Grammy nominees are announced this December for the February 2013 show... Hopefully Interscope/19 sees how much just limited exposure to "Undone" via that VHS show is boosting her sales.....

Rose colored glasses---ON! So, I am an old timer who still buys CDs and was in Best Buy yesterday to pick up new CDs from Van Morrison, Donald Fagen and ZZ Ward (terrific singer that I found about from this site...).

Anyway, in the CD bin, in Haley's tabbed area, checked for "Listen Up" to see if they still had a copy. They had maybe one or two last time I looked. And, they had.... about 10 copies---? Which I found odd considering that the CD is out of the top 200 and if anything, Best Buy is cutting back on CD stock. SO, maybe something is up...given that this Best Buy location feels more CDs may be needed? Or, maybe it means nothing...but...

Where was that Best Buy located at? Someone tweeted last week they noticed a bunch of CDs in Minnesota. I thought they might be dumping them in that market since they had played Haley heavily on the radio there and she developed a bit of a following.

Hi Miguel. The Best Buy is in Frederick MD about 40 miles NW of Washington DC. Haley has not been on the radio in this area although I think "Free" was briefly played by the Baltimore Mix station. (As far as "unexpected" Haley: I have never heard Haley on the radio or in a shopping center or mall. I heard her one time on the ABC promo for "Nashville".)

So, I was surprised to see that CD bin full of Haley CDs. As you know, Best Buy is cutting back on CDs in many of their stores.

SO--Rose Colored Hope--Interscope is planning a big November push for "Listen Up" with a single/video/appearances and they want more product in the stores. Reality--probably overstocked locally! LOL. Anyway, keeping the faith for Round 2 of "Listen Up"...

Good to see that. I have never seen Hales CDs at Best Buy.Does anyone remember Tower Records? are they still around? There was a few on the west Coast.

Best Buy is headquartered in the Minneapolis-St Paul area so their buyer could have been inundated with the sounds of Haley. But I don't think it is too far fetched to think Interscope is gearing up for another go. That second tweet above is from a Walmart in Arizona.

We heard one rumor "Undone" would go to radio in November. If it does, it would make sense to have the album in stores in time for Black Friday. In selling to retail buyers/distributors, they could also point out the other songs on the album that have been featured on TV. It could be those mentions have already led to an increase in sales.

The other possibility is Interscope has been pushing the album for a Grammy nomination and they have let the trade know it. The 55th Annual Grammy Award nominations will be announced from a special concert in Nashville on December 5th.

In any case, I think it is unusual for an album that was not a top seller to be replenished in bulk at top retailers five months after its release. If the restocking is widespread, and none of the factors above are at play, Haley's album must have been enjoying steady sales all along.

I hope other outlets will be allowed to sell the Deluxe version of the CD other than Walmart. I wonder if there is an expiration date for Walmart's exclusive rights. Another possibility is deeming Walmart's exclusive rights null and void for breach of contract for understocking her CD!

I always thought that was a factor in Haley's sales, that you could only buy the delux at Walmart (shop outlets)...but then again, nowadays, fewer and fewer people buy their music on discs and at stores like this anymore.
The significant leap in handheld 'mini internet machines' technology has made the way you buy music, by downloading it, a no brainer to young consumers

If this girl had one of those songs played on Top 40, that CD would be selling. That is such a good CD, and so many people have no idea because they don't hear any songs on the radio. It's good that she is getting some bits and pieces of her songs played on TV, but she needs the songs to be displayed better. More like Alex Clare and the Internet Commercial, "Too Close". That is what she needs... a good solid break to get her songs heard or just one song to grab people's attention. "Oh My' is the perfect song to do it as well as "Hit the Ground".

I stopped in my local Best Buy tonight. It's the highest volume BB in Dallas. There were two Haley Reinhart CDs in stock; placed behind the stock for Chris Rene and REM. There were a fair number of Chris Rene discs facing the aisle. I placed the divider with Haley's name and the two CDs at the front. It seemed like the right thing to do (and it was since her name comes first alphabetically).
