In general, I'm not a big fan of contestants whose....'disability'(?) is a highlighted aspect of their profile, and why I couldn't get behind Shelby last year. There's enough manipulation by the producers that I can do without the 'vote for me because I struggle with "X"' type of contestant and cringe at the OTT sobfest that ensues.

I know it's a cold attitude to a debilitating condition, but I've been desensitised to too many 'sob story' in all these talent/singing competitions that I automatically lose interest if it becomes aparent that it's being used as a pity/vote getting issue.

Just sing the song.....

That being said, she shares a bit of a rasp in her voice with Haley, and, who knows, maybe having "Undone" being featured will remind those in the AI audience about Haley enough to see a bump in sales for "Listen Up!". I can deal with that....

But Plz.... Let Shelby's Bi Polar be way down on the list among the characteristics that define her

Shelby entered last year as a 17 yr old. She suffers from being Bi Polar, and I believe Himm2 was behind her last year too

I remember wanting to like her last year, but she was just too fragile for me to continue. Things get alot tougher in the later rounds, and that's just on Idol. If on the off chance she won, she wouldn't have a chance in the Real World ....

4. Sometimes there's actually someone to root for. True, that person usually gets voted off the show well before the finale (examples include Jennifer Hudson and Haley Reinhart) but sometimes talent and personality do shine out over the cute factor. And who knows? Maybe this season the winner won't be another white male with an acoustic guitar.

I think its AWESOME news that Undone will be performed .. Hopefully for more than 5 seconds ! I wouldn't expect it to be any silver bullet to sucess for Haley.. more like a lottery ticket ... small chance of a huge jackpot from it but you can't win the pot if you don't have a ticket.

-But certainly no matter what it will lead to a few sales for Haley ... even a few hundred dollars in royalties is better than a poke in the eye. And who know's who else might hear it and give it another lotto ticket chance somewhere else ?

From the spoilers I read, we won't need to worry about that particular sob story too much (or maybe they'll take the tawdry approach of showing a break-down on the news ?) .. Shelby Tweten didn't make the top 40 cut if there is any truth to this spoiler

Somehow though, i'm thinking that's all smoke and mirrors to just be an advisory thing and ultimately let them control who is in the smaller top 10 without giving fans that huge first cut from 24 to 12 or the big girls and boys eliminations of prior years. I think they want to maintain a firmer control on the demographics of the top 10 ... and maybe even plant (actually as they always do) the right fodder in there that won't upset the applecart so their demographic mix of contestants remains where they want it for more weeks..a t least to the final 4 etc.

I don't think they plan to show much of Hollywood Week this season. So we may we not hear much of "Undone," if anything.

It would be weird for them to pass up on the opportunity to highlight an accomplishment of one of their alumni....especially if Haley makes an appearance in Chicago during the season.... Let's hope we do get to see it
