Great show tonight. Only song Haley did that was not done the previous two nights, to the best of my recollection, was the Christmas tune that starts, "chestnuts roasting on an open fire" Not sure of the name. Got to hang out for drinks with Swan and Pat and Haley. Thanks guys for the invite! Flying home early tomorrow, will post pics of the place then when I get there and have my PC. I really need to buy a video camera.

In putting together the chronological playlist of the performances from my vids, I realised, that I completely missed NTYH!!! that's 19 songs 19!!. I'm not sure she did that many the following nights

Hopefully these performances will be seen by the right people, and maybe one of those will know how to best help her become the success we know she can be.

I don't know about the right people, but I did tweet the performance of "Free" to the songwriters. And I made a tweet containing links to several of the Jazz videos to the NYT critic who panned her Carnegie Hall performance. I also emailed a link containing your YouTube channel to her high-school music teacher.

And Tusk...what would we do without you? The only problem with your generous display of sharing with all us Haliens is I am now incredibly Jealous that I didn't have the ability to join you there. And now we hear that our other fortunate Halien Heros got to have drinks with Haley...
oh well, I can't experience all the joys in life.

Other than knowing my Dad liking to listen to Miles Davis, I don't really know much of his work....

So I decided to listen to His Full album, "Kind of Blue"
Not being a 'Jazz fan' I decided to listen to it anyway, while doing other things...


...of course the relevance is "All Blues" is on this album.



What I'm struck with while listening to the vibe or tenor or atmosphere of the album, is that Haley, Keith and Courtney really pulled that sound off. Their Jazz set really had that smooth jazz performance atmosphere about it....

BTW.... I don't think I ever saw this video before... I didn't know that any video existed of Haley @ the Umbria Jazz festival in '09. But aparently there's at least one, of "Night and Day"

A little bit of trivia.That's actually the biggest selling jazz album of all time.Its a true classic from that era.People have actually taken some of the improvised solos on there and written lyrics to them.I'd be surprised if Haley's Dad didn't have it in his collection.

Actually, in his reply, thanking me for videoing the performances, Harry specifically pointed out "Song For My Father" as a personal highlight for him...

"Song for My Father" brought a tear to my eye. I've played it all my life and to hear her scat and improvise just blows me away as a dad
