One Hit Wonders? Do you mean Somebody That I Used To Know by Gotye?

The song choices for both categories (other than Candice and Kree for personal choice) seem either odd or uninspired. I mean "MacArthur Park"??? Good grief! And, I don't know how they're defining "one hit wonder," since both Richard Harris and Donna Summer had hits with it -- and, frankly, Maynard Ferguson's (big) jazz band did an arrangement that was quite successful (for those who followed those big, jazz bands), as well.

I'm following (sort of) MJ's live blog, and "the bussing" (of Candice and Kree) seems to have begun. I hope that it backfires on them.

Indeed, the bussing stuff is stupid. I'm not particularly invested in any of these singers over the others. But the bussing is offensive. Can't wait for Slezak's take on the Randy this week.

I'm following (sort of) MJ's live blog, and "the bussing" (of Candice and Kree) seems to have begun. I hope that it backfires on them.

Well, there is a difference -- Amber can actually sing (GASP!)!

While it's been said elsewhere (multiple times) that TPTB are throwing their support behind Amber because she's young and beautiful, and truly does have an extraordinary voice, to me the elephant in the room that has been ignored, is that her youth/inexperience makes her malleable, and, thus, they will "mold" her into what "they" want, which may not be what Amber should be doing. And, because she's inexperienced, and lacks some sophistication and confidence, I don't know that she'll be able to stand up for herself like Haley did.

I'm fearful about what could happen to her. And, if my fears play out, it will be truly sad, because the truth is, she does have enormous potential. I do think that it might have been better for her, if she'd waited another year or two to audition again.

I also wonder why they are throwing all of their support behind her, because she's likely to be the next girl out. She's the only girl to be in the bottom 3 twice. She's the hardest to get the win for.

The only other girl to be in the bottom 2 is Kree..and Janelle's fans are likely to all go to Kree.

I, for one, don't understand why they don't throw their support behind Angie. She's pretty. From what we know, she's never been out of the top 3. And because she's so...willing...I think she'd allow herself to be molded into what TPTB want her to be.

Don't really know what to say about tonight.I haven't watched all of Idol since the beginning but I've watched a fair amount and I can't recall an evening of less inspired song choices.And I agree with Jimmy on MacCarthur Park-its just a lame song.

Judges seemd to be all over the place.Keith-who I usually don't have a problem with voiced his disappointment that hardly anyone was singing anything current tonight-then he gives kudos to Angie for singing a sixty year old torch song. Isn't there a emoticon for "yawn".?

Well, given tonight, I'm not sure they haven't. But, personally, while I recognize her talent, her performances generally make me feel the need to "lose my last meal." To me, everything about her "performances" are about "performance" and they are so phony that I could "lose my last meal," which is why I usually don't listen to those performances at all, or don't listen to much.

Plus, there's her female version of Colton Dixon vibe, of which TPTB may be leery.

Which, brings me to your final point: that she'd allow herself to be "molded." Given her "professed" leanings, if she's so willing to be "molded," it doesn't say much for the values she claims to be important to her. Yes, she's young. But, to me, she's a complete hypocrite at an early age.
