Yeah.I never really appreciated Jazz before I've known Haley.
She opened my heart to various types of music...I realized that there's more to music than country and pop...Jazz rocks! Smile

Thanks Miguel and makesfigure8s for this treasure trove! Haley's voice is so naturally suited for jazz. Fortunately, she's aware of it.

Tusk, after listening to this recording of SFMF several times, I would say the rhythms provided by the drummer don't just make the song "move" -- it completes it. Music with Latin rhythms require percussion to be effective. And the drummer of this trio (plus one) is good.

I too, like jazz , but never really listened to it very much. Haley has made my interest in it grow, and I love all the jazz songs she has sung.

Listening to all these songs makes me realize how much experience Haley got at a young age. I mean how many people age 17-19 get to front a jazz band? That and along with her parents influence, made her what she is today! Smile

Babbs, not many -- nor would many want to. While I consider "The Way You Look Tonight" a standard, I would not necessarily have thought of it as a "jazz" standard. I mention that song specifically, because how many people Haley's age -- in this day and age -- would even have HEARD that song, much less be able to give it a completely different, yet complimentary melody. Absolutely astonishing!

The Way You Look Tonight is one of my favorite songs, and one which I have heard done by many artists. I love Haley's take on it and would love to hear her do a new studio version with full backing. I would be in heaven.
